What a fun-filled week Year 5 have had! 🎉 We have been exploring one of the scientific enquiry types: pattern seeking! We investigated whether people with longer arms can throw further. Why not ask us what we concluded? We have also had our final lesson on rounding – and, as you can see, things got a little crazy! In Geography, we enjoyed identifying and locating different countries around the world. 🌍 Finally, we welcomed some new children to Hobby Horsing for Golden Time! 🐴 Well done Year 5 for, yet again, another fantastic week! ⭐

Wow a busy week 5 in Year 1! We have made chairs in DT, sequenced the story of ‘Whatever Next’ in English, compared numbers using < > = symbols in Maths and even made potions in the outside area! ⭐️

On Friday October 9th we will be celebrating 'YELLOW DAY' for Mental Health Awareness. Children are asked to wear something yellow. A t shirt, a hair scrunchie, socks- just something yellow to show support. Thank you. Mrs Ashworth 💛

We are very pleased to introduced our wonderful school council for this year. They have already been busy gathering feedback from their classes and have lots planned for the year ahead!

Year 6 had a great time in PE yesterday. We were looking at creating a sequence, jumping from different levels. We also recapped the different shapes we’ve learnt and included balances. We talked about posture and control and how to safely travel into and out of a jump! The children showed great skills, determination and bravery jumping from heights. Well done Y6, very impressive!

Last week was another busy and exciting one in Year 6 with lots more curious learning. The children have really embraced this and worked really hard to complete their different activities. We’ve started to programme and debug crumble kits as part of DT, investigated angles in our outside maths task, created 2-page spreads using our research on Sir Charles Darwin, discovered how certain plants (including the cactus) are adapted to their surroundings and recapped the months of the year and how many days are in each - why not ask us the little tricks we’ve learnt to help us remember! Well done Y6 🤩👏🏻

Last week, Y5 children were digging deep and becoming historians, exploring the Dark Ages and using their detective skills to analyse what different objects and artefacts could have been used for.🏺🔎 I was so impressed with the effort and care that went into the children’s homework — it was wonderful to see such enthusiasm and commitment! 🌟 In Maths, we’ve been busy comparing and ordering numbers up to 1,000,000. The children have been working hard to understand the value of each digit and apply their knowledge accurately. 🔢 We’ve also been recapping Roman numerals and putting our knowledge to the test. In fact, the children were so keen to practise that they even started writing them on the tables… shhh, don’t tell Mrs Colman! 🤫😂 Well done, Year 5 — keep up the fantastic effort!
