🌟 It’s 2026 star 🌟

If you pop out, even to grab a towel, and your child goes under the water, you won’t hear it. Drowning is silent. And can happen very quickly.

Sadly, one child a month drowns at home. Usually in the bath.

You can stop this happening by staying with your baby or young child all the time they’re in the bath.

Keep them within arm’s reach to keep them safe. And if you need to go anywhere, take them out of the bath and with you.

Even before your baby is mobile, they can suddenly reach out and grab things that can cause serious accidents. Keep it safe, keep it out of reach.

We’ve all been there: You turn your back for a second and suddenly your child has something gross in their mouth. Dirt, old crumbs, or play dough. Everything is fair game for a curious little one.

Whilst most of this exploration is healthy and good for their development, some dangerous products can be deadly or cause devastating injuries if swallowed.

Have a look through the slides to learn why they do it, what you need to be aware of and how you can keep your little one safe.

Did you know your kitchen is probably the most dangerous room in your house. A kitchen can be a very busy part of the house and this is when little accidents can happen such as

Burns,
Scalds,
Falls
Choking

Keep safe in the kitchen by keeping children out of the kitchen area where possible, strapping children into their high chairs and cutting rounded foods into smaller pieces.

This week we’re supporting the Child Accident Prevention Trust to help children lead active, healthy lives, safe from serious injury. Discover top tips to keep children safe.
We will talking to children about the dangers in the home, having a special visit from the police to talk about how to be safe outdoors and how the police can help us and lots of other safety awareness activities
