🏆 Congratulations to Jean Crisp, who has been awarded the Lonsdale Trophy for 2026! 🏆
The Lonsdale Trophy is a special award presented by the Trustees of Norton Sports Charity. It recognises individuals or organisations associated with the Charity who have made an outstanding contribution to activities at Norton Sports Complex, going far beyond what would normally be expected.
For almost a year, Jean supported Norton Sports Charity in developing Strategy 30, our roadmap for the five years to 2030.
Strategy 30 sets out how the Charity will “Do More” for the people, clubs and communities we support. It is built around five key pillars: Warm Welcome, Elevating Your Experience, Pathway to Efficiency, Empowered for Impact and Engage to Thrive.
The strategy focuses on improving accessibility and facilities, modernising how we operate, supporting our staff and volunteers, strengthening community partnerships and creating sustainable growth. These priorities are underpinned by sound finance, good governance and a strong commitment to environmental sustainability.
Alongside coordinating the strategy, Jean helped us examine important areas including governance, marketing and communications. Her wealth of experience, dedication and hard work were instrumental in bringing together an ambitious but practical plan to guide the Charity’s future.
Jean gave her time and expertise entirely on a voluntary basis, making her contribution even more remarkable and a fitting example of everything the Lonsdale Trophy represents.
Thank you and congratulations, Jean! 👏
