✨ Our new & improved therapy rooms are almost ready! ✨

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to completely refresh our therapy spaces, and we’re so excited to be nearly finished. 💛💙

🌊 The Ocean Room
🌻 The Sunflower Room
🌈 The Rainbow Room
🦋 The Butterfly Room
✨ Plus our newly improved waiting area

Every room has been carefully and purposefully designed to create a space that feels safe, welcoming, comfortable and therapeutic for the people who use it.

As our adult services continue to grow, all of our rooms have been created to feel suitable and welcoming for children, teenagers, adults and couples. We wanted every space to feel flexible and inclusive, rather than being designed for just one age group.

We’ve also installed new soundproof acoustic panelling throughout our therapy spaces, helping to reduce unwanted noise from our livelier groups and more active children’s sessions, while improving privacy between rooms and creating a calmer, more comfortable environment for everyone using the service. 🤍

Whether therapy involves talking, play, creativity, sensory resources, movement or simply having a calm and comfortable space to sit, our rooms allow our therapists to adapt the environment around the individual client.

At Turn the Page Counselling, we believe the environment matters. Therapy isn’t just about what happens in the conversation — it’s about feeling safe enough to connect, explore and be yourself. 💛

It’s one of the many reasons we’re so proud to offer what we believe is one of the best therapy services in Stockport, combining beautiful, purpose-designed spaces with our experienced, compassionate and neuro-affirming team.

We cannot wait to show you the finished rooms! 👀✨
September is almost full for new clients so get in touch now if we can help support you or your family.

✨ Meet Emily – Therapist, School Manager & Operations Lead 💙💛

Behind every great team is someone who keeps everything running smoothly… and for us, that’s Emily.

Emily is a huge part of Turn the Page Counselling, working tirelessly behind the scenes to support our therapists, schools, children, young people and families every single day. From coordinating our growing team to building strong relationships with schools and professionals, she helps ensure every client receives the highest level of care and support.

Alongside her management role, Emily is also a compassionate therapist with extensive experience supporting neurodivergent children, teenagers and families. Her neuro-affirming, strengths-based approach helps children feel understood, valued and accepted for who they are.

As a mum of two, including a neurodivergent child, Emily brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work. She has a fantastic understanding of the EHCP process and specialist school placements, offering practical guidance and reassurance to families navigating what can often feel like an overwhelming journey.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find Emily planning her next trip to America, enjoying everything Disney, or out walking and running with her beautiful black Labrador. 🐾🏰🇺🇸

We’re incredibly grateful to have Emily as part of the Turn the Page family. Her warmth, kindness and dedication make a real difference every day, and we’re so lucky to have her leading and supporting our team.

💙 Welcome to the spotlight, Emily!

📚 TTP Book of the Month 📚

💙 My Amazing ADHD Brain by Emily Snape 💙

This month’s featured book is a wonderful celebration of the ADHD brain, helping children understand that their differences are something to be embraced, not hidden.

Through colourful illustrations and child-friendly language, this book explores what ADHD can feel like, highlighting both the challenges and the many strengths that come with thinking differently. It encourages children to build confidence, develop self-understanding, and recognise that every brain is unique.

At Turn the Page Counselling, we’re passionate about supporting children in developing a positive sense of identity. Resources like this help open up meaningful conversations about neurodiversity, self-acceptance, and celebrating individual strengths in a way that children can truly relate to.

Whether you’re a parent, carer, teacher or therapist, this is a fantastic addition to your bookshelf if you’re looking to better understand and support a child with ADHD.

✨ Have you read My Amazing ADHD Brain? We’d love to hear what you thought, or let us know your favourite children’s book about ADHD in the comments!

✨ A little introduction… because it’s always nice to know the service behind the support.

Hello! I’m Joanna, and I run Turn the Page Counselling, a trusted counselling service based in Stockport.

I’ve been a qualified therapist for 16 years, and over the last 12 years I’ve had the privilege of growing Turn the Page Counselling into a service that supports children, young people, adults, couples and families across Stockport and the surrounding areas. Everything we do is built on one simple belief: everyone deserves a safe, supportive space where they feel heard, understood and accepted.

I’m proud to lead a trusted counselling service known for providing compassionate, professional and inclusive support to our local community. Alongside my team of experienced therapists, I work hard to create a warm, welcoming environment where people can feel safe to explore whatever they are going through.

We also work closely with many local schools across Stockport and surrounding areas, providing in-school counselling and emotional wellbeing support for children and young people. This means support can be accessed not only from our therapy rooms, but also directly within school settings where it is needed most.

We support clients with a wide range of needs, including anxiety, low mood, trauma, school difficulties, neurodivergence, relationship challenges and life transitions. Whether someone is managing a diagnosis, navigating a difficult time in their relationship, or simply needs a space to talk, we are here to walk alongside them.

I’m also proud to share that I’m not only a counsellor, but a mum to two amazing neurodivergent children. This lived experience has given me a deeper understanding of the challenges many families face and continues to shape the compassionate, neuro-affirming approach that sits at the heart of Turn the Page Counselling.

Thank you for being here and for supporting our journey. We’d love to hear from you if you’ve used our services or are just considering therapy.
