📚💙 TTP Neurodivergent Book of the Month 💙📚

This month, we are sharing “I See Things Differently: A First Look at Autism” by Pat Thomas.

This gentle and accessible book helps children begin to understand autism in a positive and age-appropriate way. Through simple language and relatable examples, it encourages empathy, acceptance, and an appreciation that everyone experiences and understands the world differently.

At Turn the Page Counselling, we are passionate about promoting neurodiversity-affirming resources that help children feel understood, valued, and celebrated for who they are. Books like this can be a wonderful starting point for conversations at home, in schools, and within therapeutic spaces.

🌟 Perfect for:
• Children wanting to understand autism
• Siblings, friends, and classmates
• Schools and educational settings
• Families beginning their neurodiversity journey

Different isn’t less. Different is simply different. 💙

Have you read this book with your child or used it in school? We’d love to hear your thoughts below.

✨ We’re so excited to finally share something we’ve been working hard on behind the scenes…

💙 The brand new “Understanding Autism” programme launches this September at Turn the Page Counselling! 💛

This 6-week programme has been carefully created by to help young people better understand autism, sensory differences, emotions, identity, strengths, and wellbeing — all within a safe, neuro-affirming and supportive environment. 🌿

We are now able to offer this programme face-to-face to our young people aged 8-18. Delivered by one of our qualified therapists and trained Spectrum Gaming Facilitators, the sessions are designed to help children feel understood, connected, and empowered to be themselves.

Because creating a calm and safe group environment is so important to us, we are keeping our office-based groups intentionally small with just 5 children per group. We will carefully match children within each small group to help ensure the right mix of young people attend together and feel comfortable within the space.

✨ Limited places available
📍Based at our Great Moor office, 352A Buxton Road.
👧 Ages 8–18 years
📅 Launching September 2026- Dates TBC

We are incredibly proud to be part of sharing this programme and cannot wait to welcome our first groups.
If you’d like more details, the costs, or to book a place, be quick and send us an email to register your interest 💙

Sometimes we just need to pause. 🌿

To stop and notice the colours around us, the movement of the trees, the warmth of the sun, the tiny details we often miss when life feels busy.

Nature can gently remind us to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with the present moment. 💛

Even a few quiet minutes outside can help calm our minds, regulate our nervous systems, and bring a sense of peace back into the day.

What’s one thing you noticed today? 🌸

📚 May Book of the Month – “This Is Me!”

This month in our TTP Book Club, we’re celebrating This Is Me! — a beautiful, simple story with a powerful message: I am who I’m meant to be.

This book gently supports children to explore identity, self-acceptance, and confidence in who they are. It’s especially meaningful for neurodivergent children, reminding them that they don’t need to change to fit in — they are already enough just as they are.

At Turn the Page, we’re always looking for ways to support children to feel seen, safe, and understood — and books like this can open up really important conversations in a gentle, accessible way 💛

You’ll find this in our little library, ready to read when you’re next in the office 📖

📚 Book of the Month | Turn the Page Counselling

This month, we’re sharing a beautiful and powerful read:
Love Needs No Words by James Hunt 💛
This story gently reminds us that connection isn’t always spoken.

For many children—especially those who are neurodivergent—love, safety, and understanding are felt in ways beyond words.

At Turn the Page Counselling, we see this every day.
Connection might look like:
✨ Sitting side by side in silence
✨ Sharing a game or creative activity
✨ Following a child’s special interest
✨ Being present without pressure

Because meaningful connection doesn’t require perfect communication—just understanding, patience, and attunement.

This book is a lovely one for:
🌿 Parents wanting to better understand their child
🌿 Schools supporting neurodivergent pupils
🌿 Children learning that they are understood just as they are

💬 Sometimes the most important things are not said out loud—but deeply felt.

If you’d like support for your child or young person, we’re here.
