✨ Welcome to Our Wonderful Learning Environment! ✨

Our classroom is a vibrant, engaging space where children are encouraged to learn, develop and thrive through play. Curiosity, exploration and investigation are at the heart of everything we do, helping children build confidence, independence and a lifelong love of learning.

We offer a wide range of high-quality resources and thoughtfully planned continuous provision, giving children the freedom to learn on both a small and large scale. Every area of our setting is designed to inspire imagination, creativity, problem-solving and meaningful play.

Our spacious hall provides even more opportunities for learning and physical development, where children enjoy a variety of enriching weekly activities including:
🎡 Music and singing
πŸ’ƒ Dance and movement
🌈 Daily sensory circuits
⚽ Footy Tots
🧘 Yoga
πŸ“š Storytelling and group activities
🎨 Creative experiences
…and so much more!

Our curriculum follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and is carefully planned using Birth to 5 Matters guidance. This allows us to create an individualised curriculum that reflects the interests, needs and developmental stages of the unique children in our care, ensuring every child is supported to reach their full potential.

We believe children learn best through meaningful, hands-on experiences, where every day is filled with opportunities to discover, explore and have fun in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment.

If you're looking for a warm, welcoming setting where your child will be valued, inspired and encouraged to flourish, we'd love to welcome you for a visit. ❀️

We thought we would share some of our end of term feedback forms from parents. Every single family sent us the most glowing reports which is amazing to say just a snippet of some of the things that they said about our preschool.

Parent Feedback – Little Stars Preschool
The feedback from our parents reflects the warm, nurturing and high-quality provision at Little Stars Preschool.

Parents consistently commented on the caring nature of the staff:

"We can't fault anything at all with Little Stars."

"All the staff are so welcoming and polite, and they always have the time to speak to parents and grandparents."

"It's a very special place full of amazing staff."
"Our son loves all of the teachers they are really tuned to the children."

Many families spoke about the significant progress their children have made during their time with us:

"Our child has learnt so much in the last year, but most importantly has grown in confidence and independence."

"We have found Little Stars fantastic. It's such a breath of fresh air to find a preschool that is so nurturing, child-focused and genuinely lovely. My child's confidence and resilience has grown so much and her introduction to learning has set an amazing foundation for school."

"We feel that our child has developed 100% both socially and academically. They can write their name and confidently count all the way up to 25."

Parents also highlighted the exciting experiences and opportunities provided:

"My child loved all the Spanish classes, playing outside in the sandpit. They loved the experience of having the chicks and watching them hatch."

Children's enthusiasm for attending Little Stars was another recurring theme:

"Our child loves his time at Little Stars. He jumps up to go out in the morning to get there."

"We have loved every minute at Little Stars. Even at the weekend she asks, 'Is it a preschool day?'"

Several parents expressed how highly they value the preschool and the relationships built with staff:

"Our son’s time has been amazing. I wish we'd brought him sooner."

"They absolutely love coming to nursery. We don't feel like there's anything they can improve – just keep being exactly how you are, a fabulous nursery with amazing staff. It's like one big family."

Overall, parents describe Little Stars as a welcoming, nurturing preschool where children thrive, develop confidence and independence, enjoy rich learning experiences, and are exceptionally well prepared for their next stage of education.

πŸ₯’ As Cool as a Cucumber! πŸ’¦β˜€οΈ
Today our preschool children have been making the most of the warm weather by enjoying our wonderful outdoor learning spaces!

Our mud kitchen was full of excitement as the children explored with fresh cucumbers, wonderfully scented tea bags, water, and a variety of utensils for chopping, pouring, slicing, and mixing. These open-ended experiences encourage imagination, creativity, communication, and fine motor development while inspiring lots of role play and teamwork.

πŸ–οΈ Our undercover sandpit was another favourite, keeping everyone nice and cool while they dug, built, constructed, and created to their hearts' content. Sand play is a fantastic way to develop problem-solving skills, hand-eye coordination, and cooperative play.

πŸ’§ Our water station was, as always, a huge hit! Today the children enjoyed exciting duck races, lots of pouring, filling, splashing, and experimenting with water flow. Water play supports early mathematical thinking, scientific exploration, and language development all while having endless fun!

Days like these remind us that some of the best learning happens through play. We love seeing our children explore, investigate, create, and laugh together as they build confidence and make wonderful memories. πŸ’šπŸŒΏ

Last week, we were delighted to welcome Rachel who is our sendco lead alongside Sam , Rachel delivered some fantastic training for our team on Attention Autism, inclusive group times, and creating discovery activities that engage and support every child.

Before the training, Rachel visited Charmwood, an inclusive nursery with a large specialist provision for children with additional needs. During her visit, she had the opportunity to observe excellent practice and work alongside children with a wide range of additional needs.
This experience not only helped support our setting but also provided us with lots of practical ideas and strategies to make our group times and discovery learning even more inclusive.

The visit gave us a valuable opportunity to reflect on our own practice, celebrate what we are already doing well, and identify ways we can continue to develop and improve.

Our staff also stayed behind for an extra hour to take part in Rachel's inspiring training session. She shared the importance of engaging group times, introduced creative ideas to capture children's attention, and demonstrated several Attention Autism activities, including "What's in My Bucket?"

Since the training, we have already started embedding these approaches into our daily routines, and we've seen a really positive impact. We know meaningful change doesn't happen overnight, but we're committed to continuing this journey and ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive.

A huge thank you to Rachel for delivering such an engaging and informative session. Our team left feeling inspired, motivated, and excited to continue developing our inclusive practice for all of our children.
