🌼 Free Family Meetup – St Mary’s Flower Park, Prestwich
I am so happy to invite you to a free, relaxed family gathering on 20th June at St Mary’s Flower Park.
I thought as I'll be moving to the area soon, I wanted to start building a community here in Prestwich.
This is a space for neurodivergent children, parents, and carers to come together, meet others locally, and just spend time in a way that feels comfortable.
✨ What to expect:
Crafts for kids
Snacks & resources
A welcoming, informal space to connect
Time to chat with me and other local families
Stay for as long (or as little) as works for you
📍 Look for the picnic blankets and the Rise with Katie logo - that’s where you’ll find us.
No booking needed. Just come as you are.
Because community doesn’t have to be complicated 💛

🌿 Prestwich Clough Family Day – Sunday 17th May
I will be heading outside for a relaxed, no-pressure community day at Prestwich Clough and I'd love to meet as many of you as I can!
Look out for the Rise with Katie banner and get to know me, my services with both families and adults, upcoming events and just get a chance to connect with other neurodivergent families in a space where everyone is welcome exactly as they are.
There will be information to take away, colouring, the chance to buy my book 'The Girl Who Always Could' and a chance to win a session with me!
Can't wait to see you there!

💛 Understanding Autism, ADHD & AuDHD Workshop - THIS AFTERNOON 💛 4pm till 6pm online!
Autism and ADHD don’t just sit side by side, they interact in really unique ways that can shape how someone thinks, feels, communicates, and moves through the world.
This upcoming workshop from Autism - A Hands On Approach, explores exactly that..
🌈 what AuDHD looks like in real life
🌞 how it can be misunderstood
🌟 and how we can better support both children and adults with this combined neurotype.
I will be sharing insight from my own lived experience as a late-diagnosed AuDHD adult, alongside my mum, Sally Trowse, who will be discussing the traits of ADHD, Austism and AuDHD based on her professional work with CAMHS.
If you’ve ever felt like “standard” autism or ADHD explanations don’t quite fit what you’re seeing at home or in practice, this one is for you.
There's still time to grab a ticket for £20. If you are interested, head to my events page over on my website! Link in bio.

Back as requested with a 2nd Kids retreat session for Spring this year - throwing off my usual pattern of one retreat per season (!) so for want of a better name I'm naming it Spring retreat 2 lol
I'm looking forward to some returning retreat kids joining us and perhaps yours could be one of our new recruits? Please share this wherever you feel it may be of interest as we know these kind of events are few and far between, so if you know families that might benefit let's make sure no one misses out. If you can't join this time but would like to book in for our Summer events please get in touch to join our waiting list for more information coming soon.
Our sessions make such an impact on those that attend and the kids love having fun in a safe space at their own pace chatting about all the things that make our lives as neurodivergent folk different in this neurotypical world, how we can thrive despite or because of that, and what we can celebrate about it by finding community together.. we come across challenges navigating differences between us too, but learn to advocate for ourselves AND respect boundaries at the same time. I am always there to guide interactions in ways that help everyone balance their individual needs in a neuro-affirming and 'PDA-friendly' way. Something that isn't often available in school settings with limited staff and capacity, but a key opportunity for your child to learn valuable skills to improve their experience of school and social settings FOR THEM and not simply learning how to make others comfortable at the expense of their own! My favourite thing to teach 😀

Our Kids retreat day session is back for Spring and bursting to go!
4 places left for any neurodivergent kids looking for a relaxing and supported experience getting to know other kids who 'get it' and experience the world differently too. I'll be there as a social guide when needed and help everyone feel settled and included, as well as offering opportunities to develop self-esteem through challenges or activities designed to explore our unique brains and learn from each other.

Our words can make a big difference in how our instructions and guidance actually land with kids - or anyone in fact. Wouldn't most of us feel better with the second option, even as adults? And these shifts can often make it easier to do what's being asked.. which swaps have you already made over time?
Love this ❤️

Getting last preparations ready for this Online training course for on PDA for parents and carers and looking forward to spreading the word and supporting families on their 'PDA journey'. It's often a lonely experience so I'm hoping we all feel some relief and solidarity together in this session, though the session is open to anyone interested in understanding more. I can't wait to see you there, if you're already attending. Please feel free to pass this on and get in touch if you would like more details through the Stockport autism team.
