Does anyone have draws similar to the ones in the photo they are looking at getting rid of at a cheap price or even better in a position they could donate them?

2) You shake a bag with ice and salt to make a scientific reaction

Never mind Glastonbury! We had our annual Wallopsfest last week, the children spent the day partying, singing, making their own dancing rhythms sticks with ribbons and sticks, they all dressed in their best festival outfits, adding plenty of hair colouring and face glitter.

It’s been a warm week but a fun week, with our firework water guns, water painting and the biggest hit the new paddling pool - the children loved the inflatable shapes and animals inside the pool and of course sliding in and splashing was a big hit.

☀️Solar oven ☀️

It’s been super hot so we’ve been able to learn how we could cook outside in the heat without a fire, this week we made Solar ovens!

Our solar ovens cooked pizzas for snack and they were delicious!
How?

We had pizza boxes to turn into solar ovens.

We cut a square in the top of the box and covered it in foil, we then covered the hole we made in clim film (like an oven door) we then used foil & black paper on the bottom of the box to attract the suns reflection and placed the pizza on top of the blank paper.
We also tried one without clim film to see the difference.

We then headed outside and found the sunniest place and placed our solar ovens down - we blocked the area off and kept checking on them cooking. 

During this activity we spoke about the safety of cooking in heat, the way a solar oven works with reflection and attracting the sun, keeping the heat inside the box and how hot the sun can be (as hot as a oven!) and why it’s so important we wear suncream so we don’t cook our skin. 

The solar oven that had the clim film melted the cheese and cooked the pizza with a softer base, the one with an open hole made the pizza cooked but much crispier.

Yesterday we had a great day celebrating Father’s Day with some super fun sport activities and finished off with a picnic lunch all together.
