You can’t control uncertainty. It will always be there, but you can work with the way uncertainty makes you feel.
Right now everything feels very unsettled, and you feel it in your body, your thoughts and in your reactions.
My new workshop shows you how to recognise those feelings in real time and give you some simple tools to steady yourself instead of getting pulled in to it.
Doors close this Friday. Time for change, grab your spot now.

It’s often not the boundary itself that’s the problem.
You’ve managed to get yourself to that point, you knew something wasn’t working, you’ve had the conversation, so you’ve decided to take a step back and for a while it all seems clear.
The the feeling kicks in. Hard.
You start thinking about them, wondering if you were too harsh and you replay everything that you’ve said. There’s a strong pull to reach out, not because that’s the right thing to do, but because you know it will take the edge of how you are feeling.
That’s the bit that’s rarely talked about.
Holding that boundary means sitting with the discomfort without trying to immediately fix it. It means being aware of that powerful urge to reach out and choosing not to, even if it would be easier in the moment.
That’s not about willpower, it’s about understanding what’s happening in your body and mind when the pull shows up and having the resources to rely on so that you don’t get swept away with it.
That’s were yoga lives.
Not on the mat, not in a perfect candle lit studio, but right there when everything in you is screaming to react.
That’s the works and it’s exactly what I’ll be teaching in my next yoga workshop.
YOGA - The Practice of Being Human.
No yoga poses, just real tools for real life.
Doors close this Friday and if this feels familiar, it might be time to do something different.

“ARE WE THERE YET? ARE WE THERE YET?”
Just like Bart Simpson in the back seat of Homer’s car, you are asking yourself this same question. Am I on the right path, am I doing the right thing, should I change something?
The pressure of those questions is HUGE because it feels like you have to have the whole thing figured out before you make the first move. So you sit and think about it…over and over again.
It might be your job that doesn’t feel right anymore, or the conversation you’re putting off, or the boundary you know you need to set, and because you can’t see how it all works out in the end, you don’t move. It’s not that you don’t want to, you instinctively know you have to, but it all feels too BIG.
Often, it’s not that you don’t know what to do, it’s because you’re trying to play the whole game like a Grand Master in Chess.
What if it’s not about the whole game, what if it’s not about the whole journey, what if it’s just about the next step? Just one step forward.
That’s the work of yoga and that’s what I’ll be teaching in my new workshop.

YOU’RE NOT LAUNCHING YOURSELF INTO SPACE, BUT SOMETIMES…IT FEELS LIKE IT!
I was lying in bed watching the Artemis launch the other night, genuinely in awe of those four brave humans who climbed into that rocket. And it wasn’t because it was easy for them, it was because something in them was willing to feel the fear and still go.
Think about that. How amazingly human is it to face your fear to do something you’ve dreamed of your whole life?
We might not be going to the Moon, be we do face fear and uncertainty all the time.
The fear is there when you know something in your life needs to change, but the thought of what comes next is overwhelming. It’s there when you’re tossing and turning in bed the night before you know you have to have a difficult conversation with a family member and you’re running through every possible outcome, that you can’t possibly predict.
Your nervous system doesn’t know the difference. Fear is fear.
The butterflies, the dry mouth and the urge to back out and pretend everything is fine. More often than not that’s what you do, that’s what we all do…nothing. Waiting until you feel ready, confident, certain…and goes what that moment never comes.
Those astronauts didn’t wait until they knew everything was 100% certain or for their fear to disappear. Think about leaving your family and loved ones behind as you launch yourself in to space at 15,000 miles per hour! No, they trained to sit with it. They understood it and they trusted themselves and their team enough to take that giant leap anyway.
For me, this is what yoga is all about.
Not escaping life or numbing yourself from it, but learning how to recognise feelings rise in your body in those moments, siting with it, grounding and taking that step anyway.
That step is the decision you’ve been holding back on, or saying something you’ve been pushing down for a while. It might just be noticing your reaction before it takes over, which is so powerful.
Not perfect. Real.
YOGA - The Practice of being Human, my new workshop is designed to help you do this.
Great folk signed up already, come join us.

Yoga is for these moments, not the moments when everything is hunky-dory, but the moments when you feel the frustration rise and the urge to act out.
That’s what happened to me today.
Anyone who lives in a tourist town will understand what it’s like when the sun shines and it’s vacation time. Don’t get me wrong, I love the diversity and business that tourism brings to Stirling and I’m so proud of this beautiful city, but sometimes when you’re against it … frustration might rise.
Yoga helped me today deal with my already up regulated nervous system. I had the tools to realise what was happening to me and intervene so that I could act with more grace.
I don’t get it right all the time and that’s because I’m human and yoga is designed to work with our messy human nature.
We’re not going to get it right every time or never get cross because that’s not human.
My new workshop, YOGA - The Practice of Being Human woks with these moments.
Real tools and awareness to help in real situations like the one I found myself in today.
I’ll be Sunday 19th April for this new, fun and informative workshop.
If you’d like details comment “TRAFFIC’ and I’ll send you details or tell me about a situation you found yourself in today where yoga could have helped.
You’re not launching yourself into space, but sometimes it might feel like it.
Last night those four humans climbed aboard that rocket, not because it was easy, not because it was certain, but because something in them was willing to face the fear … and STILL go. It’s astounding, but also very human.
To feel fear and then move anyway. To not have guarantees, but still take that step.
This is Yoga in action.
That fear might show itself when you know you have to change something in your life, and the uncertainty is terrifying.
Fear is fear, and oftentimes it can feel like your nervous system can’t tell the difference between launching yourself into space and telling your partner that your relationship is no longer working.
It’s so uncomfortable and messy.
You feel it in your body … the butterflies and the dry mouth. You would almost rather do anything else and the urge to back out is so tempting.
More often that not, you do walk away because you’re waiting until you feel confident and certain, but unfortunately that won’t work.
Those astronauts didn’t wait until there was no fear, they trained to sit with it. They armed themselves with knowledge and practice.
For me, that what yoga is all about .. not escaping life’s challenges or being calm all the time, but learning how to be human.
To feel the fear and discomfort and not get lost in it. You stay just enough to make that one step forward. That step might be saying something that’s been on your mind for ages or finally making that decision you’ve been ruminating on for months.
That’s the work of being human and it’s exactly what I’ll be teaching in this workshop.
YOGA. - The Practice of Being Human.
No yoga poses, no performance … just real tools to help you make that step forward.
Are you ready to launch yourself forward?
10, 9, 8 …

I’m sure you’ve heard a lot about “enlightenment” in the yoga world. Nirvana, bliss … it’s the place we’re all aiming for, right?
Well, yes, maybe … but it’s highly unlikely in this current human existence.
Meditation, flow, feelings of awe can bring us towards it, but I sometimes wonder if we’re just trying to escape the human life we lead.
Let’s face it, being human isn’t always that comfortable. The rollercoaster keeps going, one minute you’re fine and the next you’re frustrated and overwhelmed.
You might say something you didn’t mean in the heat of the moment or conversely, you didn’t say something you wish you had.
And then you might think, “Why am I not better at this?”. And that’s especially true if you’ve been part of the yoga world for a while.
But you see, that’s not the point, yoga isn’t about rising above your life … neutral and unaffected. That’s not human, yoga is about living your life, feeling it… ALL of it… and somehow trying not to completely lose the sense of yourself in the midst of it all.
Yoga is about living life honestly, not perfectly and that’s is where things really start to shift.
That is the work and it’s what I’ll be teaching in my next yoga workshop.
YOGA - The Practice of Being Human.
No yoga poses, just yoga tools for real life.
There’s already some great folk signed up already … come join us.
I’m so excited to be back at the Yoga Tree in Stirling for this special yoga workshop.
We have all experienced so much change over the last few years and we know that life doesn’t always go to plan.
Things change, people change and even we change.
Often it’s not the situation that you face that’s hard … it’s how you meet it. The over thinking, over reacting or feeling like your feet are stuck to the floor unsure of how to move forward.
If this is how you feel then, you’re not alone.
There’s already some great folk, just like you, signed up for this workshop … and I’d love for you to join us.
YOGA - The Practice of Being Human is a 2-hour workshop where we’ll explore how to use yoga as a practical tool for real life.
No yoga poses. No performance.
But how to:
Recognise what’s happening in your body and mind in the moment,
Understand why you may react the way you do,
Create a pause so that you can respond with more clarity,
Take that one step forward, even when the confidence isn’t there and you feel uncertain.
It’s deliberately a small, welcoming group. No experience is needed. Just come as you are … messy and human.

Life is constantly changing. Plans change, people change and more often than not things don’t go the way we expect them to.
If you’re honest, that’s the bit you struggle with, not what’s happening, but the fact it’s not what you wanted.
Yoga can teach you that you can’t control the world around you, but you can learn how to meet it. Not by being calm all the time or an emotionless robot - who wants that anyway?
By understanding what’s going on in you body, your mind and your nervous system, you can choose how you respond.
You are sitting in traffic, you’re running late and someone cuts infant of you. And you feel the emotion rise instantly, your jaw is tight and your shoulders rise to your earlobes.
The surge to react to slam the horn or shout at the windscreen. Yoga doesn’t always stop that from happening, but it can give you some tools for that moment .. the pause…a breath and a change to notice what’s actually happening instead of being consumed by it.
Yes, you feel frustrated, but you don’t spiral or carry it into the rest of you day.
That’s the work … the practice of yoga.
Not controlling everything around you, but changing how you move in it.
Not perfect. Human.
This is what I’ll be teaching in YOGA - The Practice of Being Human. Real yoga tools for real life.
