What is SATPIN?
SATPIN refers to the first 6 sounds that a child will learn. This is because the combination of these 6 letters can make a variety of basic words that children can sound out - this is a great confidence boost! Think 'sat', 'pin', 'pat'.
When teaching your child these sounds start by introducing a sound a day/every two days. This can simply be pointing to the letter and saying the sound it makes. Once all 6 sounds have been introduced you can begin activities where your child matches the sound with the letter.
