Literacy is about so much more than learning to read and write. In any language, those important early literacy skills develop through talking, listening, singing, storytelling, rhymes, games, pictures and lots of playful interaction.

At Kidslingo, we believe that FUN is one of the most powerful learning tools of all.

When children are happy, engaged and excited to join in, they're building vocabulary, developing listening and communication skills, recognising sounds and making connections between words, pictures and meaning – all while discovering a new language!

So excited to introduce our new tutor Anne-Sophie who is starting with us this week!

Hola! 👋 😊 My name is Anne-Sophie and I work with Kidslingo as a Spanish tutor.
I was born and raised in France, but have always had a deep love and connection for the Spanish language and culture, which I studied at school and university and perfected while living in Spain. I moved to Scotland over 20 years ago to be a French assistant in Scottish schools and I have been a teacher in Secondary schools since then. Therefore I have spent my entire career working with children and passing them on my passion for languages.
📌 I’ve always had a passion for languages and working with kids. I believe that the connection between a teacher and a child is the foundation for learning and when it comes to language learning, the younger the kids are, the better it is. This is why I’ve chosen to teach languages to kids but also made the change from Secondary schools to nurseries & afterschool. I truly think that when it is taught as a game, in a fun and enthusiastic way, kids have a better chance to enjoy learning a language and remember more things.
📌 As a native speaker of French and fluent speaker of Spanish living in an English-speaking country, I understand the incredible value of bilingualism. I’m so proud that my own family is raising two bilingual children. I am passionate about helping other children discover the joy of learning a second language, focusing on fun methods like songs and interactive play.
📌 My experience as a language teacher has given me a love for being creative and interacting positively with kids which I now bring into my language sessions. I love making lessons fun, engaging and interactive. I’m so enthusiastic about building children’s confidence in speaking a foreign language and making every class enjoyable for them!
I can’t wait to meet everyone and have some fun on our Spanish journey 🇪🇸

Learning another language gives children so much more than new words. It opens the door to new cultures, new friendships and new ways of seeing the world.

We receive so many lovely comments from parents and nursery and school staff about the difference they see in the children - from growing confidence and enthusiasm to hearing them proudly using their new words at home and in the classroom.
