It's a busy day today her at GTM as the first Maths GCSE paper is tomorrow. Massive good luck, not just to my own students but to all of those sitting their exams. Just relax and do your best! You'll be great x
Just issued my 500th invoice. Seems fitting that the same student has been with me since Jan 2021 when I started this little venture......
As someone who uses their calculator a lot I can get the same satisfaction out of getting a GCSE non-calculator question right as I do an A level question!!!
At least 50% of what I do is about increasing confidence and maths mentoring so I’m really intrigued to see what this is going to have to say.
I've decide to extend my hours in 2023, so if anyone is looking for tutoring for GCSE or A level maths, then I have a couple of new slots available (Monday and Thursday only). Please message or WhatsApp for more information on times.
Happy New Year from Georgia Teaches Maths. To all our students who are either taking their mock exams, waiting for the results of mock exams or waiting for the results of GCSE resits, the very best of luck. We're thinking of you!
Hope everyone had a great first (or second, or third) day back at school. It's also the first day of term at GTM. We said goodbye to a number of students in July, but have already welcomed a number of new students over the summer. I am also delighted to announce that following his success in his maths A levels (A* in Maths and B in Further Maths) Woody Hudson has joined me and has couple of slots still available for either KS3, GCSE or A level tutoring.
Good luck to all the A level students getting their results today!
These beautiful flowers arrived today as a thank you from my first ever tutee, who is just about to sit his final A level. Teaching is a privilege where you get to have an impact in the lives of students and I’d do it regardless of thanks, but when the thanks are this lovely it’s truly appreciated and very special.
I NOW HAVE LIMITED AVAILABILITY.
I have sadly said goodbye to a number of Yr 11 and Yr 13 students over the last couple of weeks, but that does mean that I now have a few slots for GCSE and A Level tuition starting from July/September.
If anyone is curious about 'that' last question on the first higher GCSE paper....here's the answer.
I promise maths is not scary, but I do thinking teaching functional numeracy skills and life ‘maths’ ie budgeting, mortgages, loans etc to those not wanting to study maths beyond GCSE is something that we should be seriously considering.
https://www.theguardian.com/education/2022/may/18/pass-notes-rebranding-maths-numeracy
Rebranding maths as numeracy? It doesn’t add up Two government advisers claim the subject seems ‘scary’ and ‘hard’, while academics warn of ‘mathematics anxiety’. Would changing a few names really help?
As exam season starts, GTM wants to wish everyone sitting GCSEs and A levels the very best of luck, but especially special good luck wishes go to my GTM GCSE and A level students. I'm so proud of every single one of them. The hard work and effort they've put in and the progress I've seen, it's been a privilege!!
As of this evening, Georgia Teaches Maths has delivered over 200 hours of tutoring, which feels like a bit of a milestone!! I would like to say a massive thank you to all the parents and students who have supported me in this journey so far.
New term starts today (although we never stopped over the summer) and I’m absolutely thrilled to say that Georgia Teaches Maths is full!!! We have a 50/50 combination of GCSE and A level students with 75% sitting their external exams in 2022.
I couldn’t wish for a better, more engaged group on tutees, and such supportive parents. Here’s to a successful academic year for everyone.
Although the page has been quiet, Georgia Teaches Maths has delivered over a hundred hours of tutoring and is still going strong. Can't believe our first 'year' is over, and the summer is here already. I want to say a massive thank you to all my students and parents and wish everyone a lovely summer.
I have a couple of slots from September, for GCSE and A Level students, if anyone is looking.
A very rare appearance on my desk this morning!
GTM has joined the National Tutor Programme.
So it's the end of Georgia Teaches Maths first full term. I was worried what it would be like stepping away from the classroom, if it would be as rewarding and fulfilling but I shouldn't have been worried at all, it's been great. Being trusted to teach someone's child 1:1 is such a privilege. It's been amazing seeing my students grow in confidence and make progress, and I've had such lovely feedback from parents.
No Easter break for us as for my Year 11, 12 and 13 students have assessments coming in thick and fast. We're continuing working through the holidays revising and doing exam practice.
Once exam season is over, I will be looking for new tutees for the next academic year. If anyone is interested please do let me know.
Happy Easter holidays to all my teacher friends.

We've got to the end of our first half term and it's been great. The students have been amazing and they've all made real progress. I've also had some lovely reviews from parents. Looking forward to what the next half term brings.
I now have capacity for a couple more students so if anyone needs a GCSE or A Level tutor, please let me know.
We’ve been up and running for a whole week. This is what it looks like behind the scenes, just before the start of a tutoring session.
Just preparing some work on probability and it occurred to me is there a reason/system for which direction each picture card faces? I can’t see anything immediately obvious.
After three days of planning and admin Georgia Teaches Maths officially went live last night. Pleased to report all the tech worked perfectly and I thoroughly enjoyed my first tutoring session.
