Our PTA organised ProStrike event is this Tuesday.

Please ensure all sponsorships are uploaded to the website so that your child is eligible for the threshold rewards and would be in with a chance of winning the trophy for the most sponsorship donations.

Donations received after the cut-off won't count.

50% or all sponsorship donations received go to the school, so please support this event as best as you can.

This week, as part of their Religious Education, Year 4 have been studying the letters of St. Paul to the gentile communities at the time of his life.

St. Paul's writings have had a strong influence on Catholicism, and Paul's teachings about Jesus inform many of the practices of the modern church.

In our' celebrate' moment, Year 4 made links between Paul's letters to the Corinthians and the theological virtues of faith, hope and charity - culminating in a study of scripture that is often used in the sacrament of marriage.

This linked back to their studies of Abraham and God's covanent with his people that we studied in the autumn term.

Maths arithmetic activities don't have to be just pencil and paper.

Children learn in a variety of ways and at St. Joseph's we follow the CPA approach - 'Concrete, Pictorial, Abstract'.

Concrete - Practical tangible resources benefit all children - after all, the science of mathematics was developed to understand, measure and calculate objects, spaces and distances.

Pictorial - The next stage is children representing their learning using diagrams. Sometimes children use a pre-prepared diagram, but as they become more confident they will draw their own.

Abstract - These are the numbers and symbols we traditionally associate with maths. Children who have a strong grasp of the concrete and pictorial phases are more likely to have quicker, more fluent arithmetic skills.

If you are helping your child with their maths at home but they are becoming frustrated with the numbers and symbols - take it back to concrete practical resources.

The fun never stops at St. Joseph's!

Coming home with every child today is a letter and a sponsorship form for ProStrike who are working in collaboration with our PTFA.

Every child in our school will have the opportunity to test the power of their shot and have it measured.

There are a great raft of rewards and goodies for hitting donation thresholds, so please do throw all your support behind this fantastic event. 50% of all funds raised remain with us at St. Joseph's, making this a brilliant way to show your support while our children experience a fun-filled day.

Football's coming home. Well, to St. Joseph's at the very least!

Please join Mrs. Stephens for a tea, coffee, biscuit and a discussion about SEND at St. Joseph's.

Parental feedback plays a vital role in the provision we offer children and how we can support families.

If you've never been to a coffee morning before you are most welcome! We've got big plans for SEND at St. Joseph's and your input is valued.

While many allergies result in only mild symptoms, some can be far more dangerous, causing life-threatening episodes of anaphylaxis that require swift intervention. This week’s guide helps break down the warning signs and outlines the immediate steps to take when every second counts.

It also provides a useful overview of the most common food allergens – from milk and eggs to shellfish and sesame – as well as common non-food triggers like insect venom, pollen, and medication. With clear guidance on recognising the symptoms of a serious reaction and the role of devices like auto-injectors, this resource can help adults feel more prepared and informed when supporting children with allergies.

O Mary! we crown thee with blossoms today,
Queen of the Angels, Queen of the May,
O Mary! we crown thee with blossoms today,
Queen of the Angels, Queen of the May.

A big thank you to all the families who contributed to our Crowning of Mary today.

Children laid their flowers to show our dedication to Our Lady, and prayed a decade of The Rosary.

St. Joseph's celebrates The Crowning of Mary on Tuesday 19th May.

It would be wonderful if every child could bring a flower into school to take part in honouring Our Lady.
