๐Ÿ—ฃ Itโ€™s okay to question things! We're helping children look at ideas with a curious mind.

Instead of just accepting what they hear, theyโ€™re learning to check sources, look for evidence, and decide for themselves if something is trustworthy. Itโ€™s all about building critical thinking skills! ๐Ÿš€

๐Ÿค” This week in Collective Worship, we reflected on our Christian value for this half term: ๐—ณ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐˜€๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ฝ.

โญ We spent time thinking about what it means to be a good friend. The children shared some wonderful ideas, including being kind, respectful, caring, helpful, honest and someone who listens to others. They recognised that friendship is not just about having good friends, but also about being a good friend ourselves.

We discussed how our words and actions can make others feel valued, included and supported.

As we finished, we challenged ourselves with two important questions:

๐Ÿ’ญ How will you show friendship this week?

๐Ÿ’ญ How will you inspire friendship in others?

We look forward to seeing our children live out this important value through small acts of kindness, encouragement and respect throughout the week.

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ Meet our kitchen crew!

Today is National Caterers Appreciation Day and we are celebrating the team who keep our children fuelled with delicious and nutritious food each day.

With over 50 years of experience at Barnack between them, our team loves watching the children grow! They both shared how rewarding it is to watch shy Reception children transform into confident, thriving Year 6sโ€”always working by the heartfelt motto: "It's nice to be nice."

A big THANK YOU! Our kitchen staff do so much more than cook; they bring energy, care, and kindness to our school every day.

Discover their personal favourite foodsโ€”and don't forget to save the second graphic for a tasty recipe to try at home this week! ๐Ÿโœจ

๐ŸŽ‰As we come to the end of another busy and successful half term, I would like to thank you for your continued support.

โญ There have been many highlights this half term, including our Spanish and PE with Parents sessions, the inspiring conductive music workshops, the hugely successful Go Kart fundraiser, a trip to Westminster, the Year 2 visit to Hamerton Zoo, and the fantastic Year 1 collective worship.

๐Ÿ‘ A special congratulations must also go to our Year 6 pupils and staff team for all of their hard work and determination during SATs week โ€” we are incredibly proud of them all.

๐Ÿ’ซ Thank you once again for your continued support. I hope you all have a restful and enjoyable break.

๐Ÿ”Ž Just like scientists, children make educated guesses based on what they already know, then test their ideas to see if they make sense. This reasoning helps children see learning as exploration not just finding the 'right' answer.
It's about building and revising ideas, understanding that all theories are works in progress ๐Ÿš€

๐ŸŒŸYear 1 Collective Worship๐ŸŒŸ

What a wonderful performance - the children spoke with confidence and enthusiasm as they shared an important message about wisdom through the story of Noahโ€™s Ark. Their thoughtful reflections reminded us all about listening carefully, making good choices and trusting in Godโ€™s guidance.

The hall was filled with smiles and joy as the children sang This Little Light of Mine so beautifully, spreading happiness and energy to everyone watching. Their singing, actions and confidence truly lit up the room!

We are incredibly proud of every child for their courage, hard work and fantastic teamwork. Thank you to our families for joining us and supporting such a special occasion. Well done, Year 1 โ€” you were amazing! ๐ŸŒˆโœจ๐ŸŽถ

Well done to all our Year 6s for completing your SATs! You showed determination, resilience and a fantastic attitude throughout the week, and we were very proud of you all.

To celebrate all your hard work, we had a pizza celebration on Friday โ€” a well-deserved treat! ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ‘

We hope you enjoyed celebrating your achievements!
