One of our HSC lecturers was invited on a tour and chat with the manager of the new private healthcare setting in Stamford…Grand View. This setting offers Nursing care, Dementia care, Residential living and Respite care. The home has a cinema room, hair and Beauty salon, cafe/coffee shop, separate dining room for family members and it’s own pub! All of these facilities ensure its residents are well looked after and provides a happy environment for all! Grand view are willing to offer a few places for work placement for level 3 HSC students from next year 🙂

The level 1 Early Years & Health and Social care students have been creative this week. In small groups they designed and planned Summer fetes whilst considering inclusion, assessing risk and other factors.

Level 2 Early Years are currently working on a unit based around Children’s play.

Today we took ourselves back to being aged 4, and we played with a variety of toys and then reflected on each activity.

Today we visited the Childcare Expo in Coventry!

Students had the opportunity to engage with a range of fantastic childcare and education experts, as well as get hands on with some of the resources, workshops and activities available in the early years sector.

Please read this new information regarding positive lateral flow tests

Re-introduction of confirmatory polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing for positive lateral flow device (LFD) tests at assisted testing sites.

From 31 March, NHS Test and Trace is reintroducing confirmatory PCR testing for positive LFD tests conducted at all assisted testing sites, including schools and colleges. This means that all staff, pupils and students who get a positive LFD test, whether at home or supervised at their school or college, should get a confirmatory PCR. The PCR test should be booked immediately either online or by calling 119 and should be undertaken within 2 days.

Staff, students and pupils who had a positive LFD test result, and their close contacts and other members of their household, should self-isolate immediately in line with NHS Test and Trace guidance and while awaiting the PCR result. If the PCR test is negative, it overrides the LFD test and the staff member, pupil or student can return to school or college, and their close contacts can end their self-isolation.
