U11 Hockey
After the great success from our U13s hockey team, it was the turn for our u11s team to represent the school at the district U11s hockey tournament. Hosted at the prestigious, Newcastle-under-Lyme school, our younger team gained some vital experience, that will benefit them next year, when they return to compete again. Up against older pupils from across Staffordshire, they applied the craft, skill and hard work ethic that they have shown in their training sessions. Some great individual performances from the team gained a lot of respect from their competitions and they have no doubt, laid some good foundations for the future. The boys did ever so well.
The PE department are so proud of the team and are very excited for their future games.

U13 Rugby
Our u13 district Rugby Championship winning team, continued their impressive season with another strong display against a well organised division and strong St. Edward’s school team. Most of our team were playing on a full sized pitch (for their age) for the first time, and continued to gain more experience playing competitive rugby. The PE department are so proud of their achievements and are very pleased to have been part of theirs and the schools first ever competitive, full rugby match. Scoring three tries was a very impressive display that gave the team the confidence and belief to be able to compete against other schools in the region.

We are thrilled to share the exceptional accomplishments of our U13 hockey team at the recent Staffordshire county tournament, hosted at the esteemed Denstone College. Emerging with a commendable 3rd place finish, our team exhibited remarkable skill and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Competing in six challenging matches against distinguished private school from across Staffordshire, they demonstrated resilience and determination, losing only to the finalists. The PE department takes immense pride in our team’s achievements, recognising the dedication and hard work they have invested in their training. This outstanding result is a testament to their relentless commitment and unwavering effort. We extend our congratulations to each member of the team for their outstanding performance.
To our Year 8 players, we encourage you to carry forward your passion for hockey as you progress into high school, building upon the foundation laid during this remarkable journey. Once again, congratulations to our U13 hockey team on their well-deserved success.

After looking at how long materials take to break down in landfill, KS3 have been looking at ways to re-use old cardboard to make interesting accessories.
They enjoyed letting their imagination run wild during this lesson creating hats, handbags and lots more out of cardboard.
