Year Group Spotlight - Year 1 💜

⭐️ Year 1 have settled in their new classes really well and have been enjoying a Sound walk this week.

🚶‍♀️Part of the walk included creating an obstacle trail pretending to go from school to Victoria Park. They will be visiting Victoria Park later on this month.

👤 They have also been looking at body parts by drawing round one of their classmates and labeling all of the parts of the body.

✍️ Chalk has been used to practice their writing skills and children enjoyed decorating our playground with the chalk.

Overall, a great start to the Autumn Term and we cannot wait to see what else they get up to this term! 💜

Year Group Spotlight - Early Years 💜

We are so PROUD of how well our new Early Years children have settled into school life 🏫

Here are a few things that they have been up to so far:-

👀 Stafford Lions visited and completed eye screening tests. The children were very intrigued when they saw pictures of their eyes on the special camera.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Started their Autumn term topic 'proud to be me' by drawing family portraits and talking to one another about their families.

🔡 Practicing writing recognisable letters.

🧱 Learning through role play.

🍦Being creative and making ice creams out of playdoh and sea shells.

We were PROUD to welcome Lizzie from Staffordshire History Centre to school today 💜

Lizzie delivered assemblies to all year groups on the History of Stafford. Children were able to learn about maps, pictures and objects. We were most surprised when Lizzie showed us pictures from pupils at our school in the 1970s!

A throughly enjoyable informative assembly, thank you Lizzie for joining us 🤩

What a fabulous time we had at our Gruffalo Granny reading workshop!

We heard the story around the campfire and took part in a few woodland crafts and hunted for Gruffalo characters as well as minibeasts!

A HUGE thank you to Miss Simmons and Mrs Gardiner for making a superb fire and organising such fun activities for us all to enjoy 💜

Watch this space for more reading workshops coming up this year ⭐️
