🌿🐞 Spontaneous ladybird spotting in our under two's garden today!

The children were fully engaged, exploring their surroundings and eagerly hunting for ladybirds. It was wonderful to see their curiosity and focus as they connected with nature, all while enjoying the glorious sunshine. ☀️

A lovely reminder of how the simplest moments can bring the most joy and learning 💚

Handmade flower bombs by our Seashell and Starfish children 🌸

“This isn’t just an empty flower,
There’s something you should know.
Inside this flower there is a seed
That, just like me, will grow.

The plant that grows will someday bloom
And remind you of the seed so small.
But without your love and tender care,
The seed wouldn’t grow at all.”

Happy Mother’s Day to all of our wonderful mummies, grandmothers, and the special women in our little ones’ lives 💐

Creating an invitation to play, where our babies had the opportunity to explore the resources for someone special🌸

The children stamped the celery onto paper, making marks and patterns as they explored the activity.

Blossom water play also added to the sensory fun. 🌼💧

We wish you all a wonderful Mother's day tomorrow and look forward to our Goldfish room's Mother's Day Stay and Play on Monday and Tuesday 🥰

This week at forest school has been such a delight!

Our sessions were bursting with creativity as we worked together to build a large nest for the bugs, beetles, and other little critters we found in the area. We began with a tyre as the nest's base and collected all sorts of natural goodies from the forest, like leaves, sticks, twigs, bark, and bits of wood to make it cosy.

Once our nest was complete, we had a lovely time observing and carefully placing different insects into their new home. Some of us used our hands, while others chose to use large metal spoons to help transfer the insects safely. We were thrilled to spot a wonderful mix of creatures, including worms, rain beetles, centipedes, snails, slugs, woodlice, a pink spider, and even a couple of ladybirds!

Looking forward to next week, we're excited about the chance to see more birds! We might even prepare some special snacks for them if the weather permits. Here’s to more adventures in the great outdoors!
