Went on a trip to the Archive place at Fife Council and got to see these amazing photos of Dunino School (as well as the old log books going back to 1888)! Where names are written on a sheet, they are for the photo posted before it. I zoomed in on a young Mrs McCreadie, but right away you can see it’s her! I had goosebumps looking at all the old Dunino stuff!

We’ll have info from all the archives of Dunino & Boarhills Schools at the Doors Open Day in Boarhills next weekend!

Photographs provided by Fife Cultural Trust (courtesy of Fife Council).

I changed the name of this page today. I thought it could be a page for more general history of Dunino (and Stravithie), rather than just the school. Wilma Mackie very kindly loaned me a huge pile of photos to scan in and upload. These are mostly from the 50s and 60s but were all taken in Dunino and Stravithie. I felt quite emotional scanning them in, wishing I could go back in time and witness and enjoy the Dunino of old! Who'd have guessed there was a thriving WRI in the school! Wilma told me she met her husband (Colin Mackie of Woodend) on the way home from the Bible Class Dance. How awesome!

I do know who some people are, but if you'd like to add names in the comments, that would be great!

I have been loaned bags of photos from Mrs Grace Morris, former head teacher of Dunino. There are literally over a thousand amazing photos so I have uploaded a snapshot of them (I have to upload in 2 batches as too many to upload at once). They are in no particular date order. They range from 1985 to the early 2000s. What a trip down memory lane! Many thanks to Grace for lending these photos.
If anyone would like photos removed for any reason, please just let me know!

From Lynneann Cameron

So very sad if dunino primary gets developed. I loved my 2 years at Dunino primary (lynne Duncan) plus my late wee brother Mark Duncan longer.
I've followed this page. Can we do a post with former pupils with their maiden names as would love to see them now. At time of life looking for childhood memories!

The school is finally for sale. Wish I could buy it and do something worthwhile for the community with the building! 💚
