⭐️Year 6 Leavers 2026⭐️

Today we say goodbye to our 2026 Year 6 Leavers.

This week, they have enjoyed a variety of fun activities including Forest School sessions, their Year 6 Leavers' Assembly, and of course, the annual year 6 water fight!

It truly has been a privilege to be part of their primary school journey. We have watched each child grow in confidence, develop lasting friendships, and build strong relationships with members of staff. We have enjoyed celebrating the end of this chapter with them and are so proud of everything they have achieved.

We hope they come back to visit us and share all their future achievements. We wish each and every year 6 pupil every success and happiness as they begin the next exciting stage of their education.

During the final term of school our PTFA ran a World Cup sweepstake, as they know how much the classes enjoy a friendly competition! There were 3 trophies to be won and the winners were as follows:

World Cup Winners: Falcons Class!
Most Goals Scored: Dragonflies Class!
League Table: Dragonflies Class!

Thank you to our PTFA for Donington Cowley Endowed Primary School for running this competition and for the prizes for the winners! The children really enjoyed following the World Cup and competing against the other classes. ⚽️

⭐️End of year Awards Assembly⭐️

🏆Congratulations to Florence for being awarded this years Andrew Judd Memorial Award for Citizenship.

🏆Congratulations also to Tommy on being the first winner of our new Endeavor Award.

Both awards were presented in recognition of unique achievements and individual accomplishments, each reflecting our school's core values of Determination, Courage, Excellence, Pride, and Success. Both these children have done themselves, their families and the whole school proud. 👏

🥇A huge well done to all the children who received their medals for 100% attendance for the whole year!

💯Our termly attendance prize was awarded. All children who achieve above 95% attendance for the term are put into a draw for a chance to win a £10 Amazon voucher.

🎫We presented the award for the winner of the most Golden Tickets received this term. Golden Tickets are awarded to children for excellent behaviour during lunch times.

💐We said goodbye and thank you to Mrs Manley and Miss Sandall as they leave us this term. We wish you both all the best as you move on to new adventures.

🎈We also sang Happy Birthday to Mrs Ogden who celebrates a special birthday during the summer holidays.

It has been another amazing year of achievements. Well done to all the children across the whole school for everything that has been achieved throughout the year. 🤩

Today we celebrate our first Nursery Leavers!
We are all so proud of how far you have come since your very first day with us in September 2025.

Mrs Timings and the nursery team feel incredibly lucky and proud to have been part of your nursery journey, and to have helped guide you as you prepare for your exciting next step into Reception.

For those children who are staying with us here at Donington Cowley Endowed Primary School, we look forward to continuing your learning journey together. For those moving on to other primary schools, we wish you well as you start the next chapter of your story.

Our Year 2's had an amazing time recently at the Theatre Royal in Nottingham when they went to see Roald Dahl's The Enormous Crocodile! It was a fantastic show full of music and laughter. The children had lots of fun joining in and even helped stop the enormous crocodile from eating anyone too! 🐊

⭐️🤟🏹Rockin' Hood - Production 2026🏹🤟⭐️

Wow! What an incredible two days we have had performing our whole school production of Rockin' Hood! 🎸🌳

This year, we stepped into the world of rock 'n' roll as we brought to life our take on the story of Robin Hood. After weeks of learning songs, lines, and actions, we opened the doors to perform for our parents, carers, and families.

Every child (and staff member!) gave 100% in each performance and we couldn't be more proud. Their enthusiasm, determination and confidence shone through from start to finish and made each show a huge success. A special mention to our very talented Year 6 children for their outstanding storytelling. They fully embraced their roles and should be proud of the important part they played in the shows.

Thank you to all of our parents and carers for your support and commitment to this year's production. From providing costumes and helping the children practise their songs at home to bringing them back to school for their evening performances, your support is always appreciated. Thank you also for the energy, cheers and applause you brought to the audience. Your enthusiasm created a fantastic atmosphere and meant so much to the children. We were also very impressed with your dance moves!

Finally, a huge thank you to the amazing Karl and his team at Act II Theatre Company for their hard work, dedication and creativity in bringing this fantastic show together. We couldn't put on such a successful whole school production without your expertise and we are looking forward to working with you all again next year! 🤟

Our final music assemblies of the year have now taken place, and we were delighted to welcome parents in to watch their stars perform.

A huge thank you to Pop Rox Music School and Lincolnshire Music Service for another year of hard work, dedication, and support for our children. They work incredibly hard each week to learn their instruments, and these performances are a wonderful opportunity to showcase their talent, confidence, and progress.

🌟Careers and Aspirations Week 2026🌟

We recently held our first Horizon Schools Federation Careers and Aspirations week in school.
Throughout the week, volunteers from a variety of professions visited the school to inspire our children as they begin to think about their own futures and the wide range of opportunities available in the world of work. The impact of these visit's was remarkable. The children did not stop talking about the sessions, enthusiastically discussing what they learned and sharing their favourite moments with one another.

To celebrate the end of Careers Week, the children came to school dressed as what they would like to be when they grow up.
It was wonderful to see such a wide variety of aspirations, and even more exciting to hear that many had chosen careers inspired by our visitors.
