A message from our Year 6 leavers:

As we leave Banks Methodist we decided to write a letter to our Reception selves to share some of our wisdom that we have gained.

Dear Reception Us...

Say yes to the school trip, the sports event, the thing you have never tried before

You’ll learn something new and find something different that you love

Read every book you can... you’ll find your favourite story one day

Don't be afraid of getting things wrong.

Keep smiling—you've got this.

We learned that mistakes help us grow.

We learned that kindness matters.

We learned that courage is about being scared sometimes.

We learned that friends make hard days easier.

We learned that fun and laughter belongs in every classroom.

Be kind to yourself... and never grow up!

These are some of the lessons we'll take with us forever.

Good luck you’ve got this… from year 6 us!

What an incredible day we've had! 🌞💦

A huge thank you to our amazing PTA for organising such a fantastic Fund Day. There were smiles everywhere, plenty of laughter, and yes... a lot of very soggy children (and adults! 😂).

It was wonderful to see our whole school community come together to create such special memories for our children. Days like these are what school life is all about.

A special mention to our wonderful Year 6 children, who had the perfect fun-filled send-off before they begin their exciting new adventures. We couldn't have wished for a better way to celebrate with you. 🎓❤️

Well done to everyone who took part in the sunflower competition too – we're so impressed by your growing skills (or at least your watering skills! 🌻😂).

Congratulations to the PTA on raising an amazing £300.15 through the BBQ and refreshments. Every penny raised will help provide even more fantastic opportunities for our pupils.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated, attended and supported the day. We are incredibly lucky to have such a dedicated PTA and such a supportive school community.
If you've ever thought about joining the PTA, we'd thoroughly recommend it – they're a brilliant bunch!

Now... just half a day left before we all enjoy a well-deserved summer break! ☀️🎉

Marvellous Mice Reception children had a trip to the post office this week. They all used their fabulous manners to ask for a stamp. They handed over their pound coin then stuck the stamp onto their envelope - hopefully the postal service aren’t too bothered about stamps being in exactly the right place! All the letters were then posted into the post box outside ready for the postal worker to collect at 4.45pm. The children are now waiting patiently for their letters to arrive at home. A huge well done to all the children for their outstanding behaviour and excellent manners. They listened carefully to instructions and represented our school beautifully.

What an incredible day Foxes 🦊 had at The Anderton Centre!
They worked together to build their own rafts 🌊 before putting them to the test on the water- showing excellent communication, problem solving and resilience. They also tackled the adventure climbing activity, encouraging one another to reach new heights and step outside their comfort zones. To finish off an action-packed day, everyone had the opportunity to try their hand at axe throwing!🪓🪓
The gorgeous weather ☀️made the day even more enjoyable in a fantastic setting 🌳🌳

Marvellous Mice have had a fantastic day out at Smithills Open Farm today. We saw many different animals and reptiles and enjoyed feeding the sheep and goats. Everyone got to hold a baby chick and stroke the rabbits, llamas and donkey. Just before lunch, we enjoyed an extremely bumpy tractor ride to the top of the field, where we fed bread to a group of donkeys. It was great fun bouncing around. Luckily nobody bounced right out! We ended our exciting day with a ride on the donkeys followed by time to play in the play area. What a wonderful day it has been.

🦔Hedgehogs had an amazing time on their end-of-year trip!🦔

We started the day with a visit to PizzaExpress, where we learned all about the fresh ingredients they use. Did you know that one large tin of their pizza sauce is made from an incredible 156 tomatoes? 🍅

The children then had the chance to make their very own pizzas and they absolutely loved it! We definitely have some budding pizza chefs in the making. 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳🍕

Afterwards, we headed to Brockholes, where we enjoyed our delicious homemade pizzas in the shaded picnic area before making the most of the fantastic play areas. There was plenty of fun, laughter and adventure!

A wonderful day was had by all and we're sure it's a trip the children will remember for a long time!

🎵Pizza express, what a tasty success! Those delicious pizzas, we loved them best! 🎵

What a fantastic opportunity for our whole school yesterday!

We were incredibly lucky to welcome Phill Gregson, one of our wonderful parents and a valued member of our PTA committee, who gave us a fascinating demonstration of traditional pole lathe turning. The children (and adults!) loved watching this incredible skill in action.

To make the day even more special, Phil handcrafted some beautiful rounders bats for our school to use. What a generous gift!

We're also thrilled that Phil has kindly offered to return next year to lead practical sessions, giving our children the chance to have a go themselves. How lucky are we!

A huge thank you, Phil, for giving up your time, sharing your talent and inspiring us all. We can't wait to welcome you back!
