In Class 2, we have begun exploring our new text, The Tin Forest, through imaginative role-play as nosy neighbours. The children embraced their characters, using these experiences to write creatively in character. I was very impressed by their enthusiasm and storytelling skills.๐Ÿคฉ

Yesterday was a wonderful day for Year 6 as they celebrated the end of their time at St. Mark's.

We began the day with an assembly for Year 6 parents where all the children spoke with confidence and eloquence about their memories of St. Mark's. Thank you to all who joined us.

We then shared a whole school 'Leaver's Lunch' and completed the day with the Year 6 party. Children played a variety of games before they were treated to a McDonald's and an ice cream station.

A thoroughly enjoyable, but busy, day made more special by the children who we celebrate and give thanks for. They truly are a delightful bunch and we will miss them greatly.

We warmly invite families past and present to celebrate with us the retirements of Mrs Freeman and Mrs Lyness.

๐ŸŒŸ Sports Fun! ๐ŸŒŸ
Although we sadly had to cancel our Sports Fun Afternoon twice due to the weather, we didn't want the children to miss out on all the fun!
Today, the children enjoyed taking part in some of our favourite Sportโ€™s activities, giving everyone the chance to shoot a goal, balance an egg, peg the washing, laugh, and work together. Their smiles, enthusiasm, and encouragement for one another made it a fantastic activity.
While we know parents couldnโ€™t attend this time, we hope these photos give you a little glimpse into the fun your children had. We are so pleased we could still create some special Sports Day memories for them! ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿ’™
Well done to all the teams.

๐ŸŒŸ Class 1's Exciting Adventure at Blackpool Zoo! ๐ŸŒŸ

This Wednesday, our wonderful Class 1 embarked on an unforgettable adventure to Blackpool Zoo! ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿ˜ The children were over the moon with excitement and had the chance to see an amazing array of animals.

From the majestic lions to the playful penguins, every moment was filled with wide eyes and curious questions. The zoo rangers were fantastic, teaching us fascinating facts about the animals and their habitats. Our young explorers listened attentively, making us proud as they represented our school with excellent behavior and enthusiasm.

This trip didnโ€™t just bring joy and laughter to the day but also enriched the kidsโ€™ learning outside the classroom. ๐Ÿ˜Š Weโ€™re thrilled to have such wonderful ambassadors who made this day a big success!

A huge thank you to Blackpool Zoo for hosting us! ๐Ÿฆ“๐Ÿฆ’

This week, our little inventors have been busy creating and decorating their own fabulous robots, inspired by the book "No-Bot"! ๐Ÿค– They've carefully decided what each button on their robots does. Next week, we'll dive into writing instructions so you can make your very own robot at home. Stay tuned for more creativity and fun! ๐Ÿš€โœจ

This week, our school hosted an incredible Careers Fair that sparked the imaginations of all our students! On Wednesday, we kicked off with a delightful day where children came dressed as their dream job heroes. They looked amazing, and we are so grateful for all the effort put into their fantastic costumes!

That afternoon, we welcomed Ellie, our lovely Yoga teacher, Emma, a dedicated fitness coach, a skilful hairdresser and business owner, and Abbie, our wonderful veterinary worker, who inspired our young learners with stories about their careers.

Thursday was equally thrilling! We enjoyed visits from Jackie, our amazing cook, Mr. Humphreys, our lovely music teacher, John, our community missionary leader, and Denise, a children's entertainer and business owner. The children learned so much and had an amazing time!

A big thank you to all our fantastic volunteers who took time to share their experiences. We are truly grateful!

If you'd like to participate next year, please get in touch with Mrs. Piper. We can't wait for more exciting career adventures! ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐ŸŒŠ Yesterday, Class 1 took part in an exciting and important learning experience as part of Water Safety Week! They learned all about staying safe around water with guidance from the RNLIโ€™s four key rules: Stop and Think, Stay Together, Float, and Call for Help. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Our young learners even practiced the valuable skill of floating, pretending to be starfish, which could be life-saving if they ever unexpectedly fall into cold water. โญ

We are so proud of our students for understanding these vital safety measures and having fun while doing so. ๐ŸŒŸ

๐ŸŽ‰ This afternoon, Clas 1 embarked on an exciting journey into the past! ๐Ÿš€ We explored the world of toys that children would have played with when our school first opened. It was an eye-opening experience for the little ones, filled with curiosity and fun!

Our young historians learned about a variety of toys from days gone by. The highlight of the day was creating our very own peg dolls, just like children did many years ago! Each child brought their unique creativity to life by designing and decorating their dolls, which resulted in some truly charming creations.

Afterward, we took a trip to the playground, where we played a classic game of hopscotch.
