We do a lot of fine motor activities here at preschool to support our hand muscles and the skills we need to do later on such as writing and using a knife and fork.
This morning we had an Autumn tuff tray out with lots of leaves, conkers and tweezers. We had to grip them very carefully with the tweezers and try and put them into the bowls.
What are tricky task but a very good try from all of the children. 🍁🍂

We had a lovely, busy morning, taking a walk down to the river to look for conkers and autumnal objects. We spotted crispy leaves, spiky conker shells and berries for the birds. When we got back we painted with the conkers, rolling them in a bowl to see how the colours mixed and the patterns that they made and will explore the other things we found further this week. What a beautiful start to autumn with the sun still shining🍁

We are talking all about oral health this week so what a great time to introduce our new daily toothbrushing programme. Each child has a brush in the tooth train and we have a go at brushing once a day. The children have loved it so far! Well done everyone 🙂

We have been reading “The colour monster” this week, talking about how we feel and how these feelings change throughout the day. It’s ok to feel sad, angry, happy, scared and everything in between and we are really thinking about how to handle such big emotions when we are only small. Our calm corner is the perfect place to reflect, have some quiet time, share a story or a cuddle 🥰
