Year 5H shout out 🌟👏👏👏

These wonderful children have made such a positive start to the new year.
Mr O’Gorman left a wonderful message to say how fantastic all of these pupils worked together during their PE lesson yesterday. Mrs Holmes has also been blown away with their resilience and perseverance when tackling such a tricky first learning step in maths - Roman Numerals! Take a look at their positivity as they completed their independent tasks this morning - amazing! 🧠💜💡

Reception parents/guardians!
Friday (tomorrow) is our PE day. Please send your child to school wearing their PE kit for the whole day. This will be the same every week.
PE uniform is a navy or black pair of shorts or joggers, a white t-shirt and either a school hoodie or a navy or black PE jacket.

Y6 have been busy this afternoon developing their portrait drawing skills as part of our current Art unit.

The children have been practising how to create facial designs using cross-hatching (one of Chris Riddell’s techniques), experimenting with lines and layers to add detail to their work.

We clearly have some budding artists in Y6- keep up the great work!

Y6R have been creating still live drawings this afternoon. We have looked at different drawing techniques such as stipping, hatching and cross-hatching. The children used different pencils for sharing and oil pastels for different textures. Next week, we will be adding a painted version to our books.

SCHOOL YARD CLOSED

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Unfortunately, the school yard can not be accessed this morning. We have found a large wasp nest and this has been treated early this morning - the wasps aren’t happy!

For those children in Year 1 to Year 6 please let your child use the main entrance to gain access to the school.

For children who are in Reception please make your way to the Nursery entrance - the children will access their classes via the gate leading onto the outdoor area. There will be staff outside to guide you.

Sorry for any inconvenience this causes but the safety of our children will always be our priority.
