Why I love being a travel agent…

There’s something about travel that gives me a real buzz. Something that makes me feel complete. Something that has filled a void in my life that I didn’t realise I needed filling.

Visiting places like Thailand, New Zealand, Vegas, many of the Greek islands and lots of European destinations over the years has reminded me just how much I love exploring the world and how much I’d missed that feeling.

My day-to-day life can be pretty intense, so being able to switch off, escape somewhere completely different and just enjoy being there is something I really value.

But one of the things I’ve really come to love over the last year is the people behind the travel.

I get a genuine excitement from building a rapport with hotels and the people who work there. Getting to know them, building relationships and learning what makes each place special.

I’ve been lucky enough to experience some of this for myself, and there’s something really satisfying about knowing the people behind a hotel and knowing that when I recommend somewhere, I’m sending people somewhere where I genuinely believe they’ll be looked after.

This business has opened doors I never thought would open, given me opportunities I never imagined and given me something that genuinely excites me.

It gives me something to look forward to. Somewhere to escape to. And that feeling of “where next?”

I absolutely love it.

And I’m still only one year in…

Who knows where it might take me next?
