Please be aware there are signs for the road closure on Thursday on roads around Wainfleet, these include Spilsby Road, High St, St John’s St and Skegness Road. If you park in the afternoon between the times stated your car will be towed away. Please check and park safely.

Wainfleet are getting excited for the Tour of Britain on the 3rd September. Bunting and flags have gone up our wonderful knitters have been busy creating fabulous jumpers for the clock tower, post box and fence . Cllr Carl has been decorating bikes and they will be filled with flowers before the day. Anyone living on the route through Wainfleet please get involved it would be fab to see more flags going up.

Tomorrow at 10 o’clock we are putting the bunting up around the market place / high street for the forthcoming bike race on the 3rd Sept. Please get involved if you live on Spilsby rd, high st, market place, St John’s street, Skegness rd and you want to decorate your house come to the market place in the morning we have lots of bunting.

This statement is not true there was a CQC visit in 2023 which we received a good review. This is the second visit now and requires improvement !!!

Driving improvement in adult care.

We’re ambitious for adult care services in Lincolnshire – and the early successes of our improvement programme are already making a difference.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has published its latest assessment of our adult care services. They looked at nine areas to evaluate how well we are meeting our adult care responsibilities, and they highlighted that we have solid foundations in place. It does identify some areas where we could do better, but it recognises that we are already taking action to improve things. This is our first full assessment since inspection of local authorities by the CQC was introduced in 2024, and we have been given an overall rating of ‘requires improvement’.

Cllr Steve Clegg, executive councillor for adult care and health, said: “When our new administration came into the council, it was clear that there was significant scope for improvement within our adult care services. We weren’t prepared to sit back and allow things to continue as they had done previously – we wanted to be much more ambitious."

"The CQC’s report underlines that change was needed and validates our decision to take immediate action. It also recognises our early successes and the progress we had already made prior to their visit. The report recognises our strong partnerships, our sound arrangements for safeguarding, and our commitment to learning and improving."

Martin Samuels, executive director for adult care and community wellbeing, added: “The people who rely on our services are at the heart of everything we do. So, we’re particularly pleased that the CQC has praised the positive work taking place to support people to build on their strengths and maintain their independence for as long as possible."

Reform have put Adult Care Services into needing improvement in the latest CQC report !!!! What has happened in 2023 the CQC visit we were rated good I was the Exec councillor for Adult Care and it makes me angry after 18 months this is where we are at…. 18 months of cuts and not holding officers to account. This can’t carry on it is you the residents who are suffering.

Disgusted, Angry, Disappointed is just a few of the things I feel at present.
Not even 24 hrs open and the new toilet facilities have been vandalised !!!!
Toilets flooded, toilet roll thrown on the ceiling and skylights, soap emptied everywhere!!!!!
Please talk to your young people as this means the toilets may be closed again !!!!
I worked hard to get these out into the programme across the district and it certainly doesn’t make Wainfleet look a good place to visit !!!

Good news the refit of the Wainfleet Toilets has finally been completed. It has took longer than anticipated with a few issues along the way. The temporary toilets in the market place will be removed tomorrow.
