🌟 Last night, we had a night off! A mini treat in celebration of a busy academic year 🌟
🧑🧑🧒 Behind this page and all that you see at School are just 4 parents, who plan and liaise, purchase supplies, manage emails and admin, wash uniforms, wrap gifts and fold tombola tickets!
🌎 Our motivation has always been our own children. To peek inside their world - to get to know those who surround them all day long. To sprinkle and bit of extra fun into their school day. To show them to be involved, be heard, be creative and try to make a difference, however small.
🤝 But we have discovered there is also an added bonus to all of this.

😍 4 parents, all with different stresses and strains, different life experiences and different views on parenthood, have come together to form a new friendship and a new support network. So whilst we may be ‘Friends of Borden School’, we have also become friends to each other. And whilst there is always PTA tasks to be completed, we can do so together, usually over a cuppa and a natter, whilst our children socialise. And the best bit - we get to go out on a Friday Night!
🎨 Last night, we enjoyed 3 hours of painting pottery at Little Potters in Sittingbourne. It was heaven. 3 hours of uninterrupted chatter, creating lovely little items AND they bring you a cup of tea! If you’ve never been before, book up and go. It was so much fun and the refreshments were lovely. We cannot wait to see the outcome of what we have made. Thank you Little Potters for a fantastic evening.
🏫 For us, volunteering has opened many doors and brought great things into our world. FOBS is open to everyone connected to our school. Just a few hours here and there is all it takes to be involved.
