My name's Emma Ford and I work in the film industry. I am currently looking to recruit Prop Model Makers for a new Marvel film being made at Winnersh near Reading.

I was wondering if you had any previous students that stood out who would be interested in starting in the Prop Model Making department as a trainee or junior.

We are also looking for more experienced model makers too if you happen to know anyone at a more advanced level looking for work.

Do feel free to call on my number below or if you could be so kind as to point me in the right direction of potential contacts it would be greatly appreciated.

With many thanks,

An opportunity has come across my desk for a set designer on an independent short film, filming in spring 2022. It might be of interest to some. Info below……

Our names are Sanaa Byfield and Mia Nuttgens and we are actor-writer-producers and recent MA graduates of the Central School of Speech and Drama.

We are looking for a set designer to work with us on our first short film Heads Will Roll, which we plan to film in the Spring 2022, funding dependent.

Logline: Two female vigilantes take the law into their own hands and retaliate against a violent, patriarchal society. A journey of gourmet dining and bloody crime ensues...

The film is a surrealist thriller with dark comedic undertones responding to the ever-present misogyny and violence against women. Themes of fixation on food and flesh run throughout - think Kill Bill meets Delicatessen.

We need a set designer to help adapt two on-location spaces into an upmarket bar and a banquet hall.

If you are interested, please do get in touch with us at [email protected]. We would particularly like to hear from female designers from underrepresented backgrounds.

Wargames Illustrated are recruiting a full-time (35 hours a week) Miniature Painter, preferably to work at their Nottingham HQ, but UK based home workers will be considered.

The applicant will paint 15 - 20, 28mm to 32mm miniatures to a high standard, per week, then photograph their finished projects for use within the pages of Wargames Illustrated magazine and on our website.

The ability to document or film painting guides is a must; conversion and terrain building skills will give applicants a distinct advantage.

Why work for Wargames Illustrated?

- Flexible hours of work
- Holiday and sick pay
- Employer pension contributions
- Security (we have been in business for 34 years).

What if I primarily paint sci-fi or fantasy?

A knowledge of historical miniatures is ideal but anyone experienced in painting fantasy or sci-fi miniatures should have no problem transferring their talents to historical - this opportunity could make a career out of your passion.

How to apply

Email us a brief introduction and details of your painting experience. Please include a link to your work online (social media channels and/or portfolio) and up to ten photographs of your painted miniatures and other model making projects (buildings, scenery etc.). If you have made painting guides please provide links.

Please do not send in applications via Facebook - they will not be considered.

Email: [email protected]

Closing date for applications: 10th May 2021
