Baby room children enjoyed taking part in a non-messy art activity called clingfilm painting. The children explored the different feelings of the paint underneath the clingfilm, using their hands to press and move the colours around. They showed curiosity and engagement as they began to create marks and patterns through their movements, developing their sensory awareness and early creative skills.

Preschool and Oaks Room had a fantastic time taking their learning outdoors as they enjoyed a lively session of Diddi Dance. The children loved moving to the music in the fresh air, practicing fun routines while building confidence, coordination, and teamwork. With plenty of space to stretch, spin, and jump, the outdoor setting made the experience even more exciting. Smiles and laughter filled the air as everyone joined in and celebrated the joy of dancing together.

At Hillside House, the children have loved taking part in special celebrations throughout the week. For occasions like Pancake Day and Chinese New Year, they enjoyed a variety of fun and hands-on activities that help them learn about different traditions. On Pancake Day, there was great excitement when our chef visited the preschool to show the children her impressive pancake-flipping skills, inspiring lots of smiles and eager helpers. During Chinese New Year, the children explored festive crafts, bright decorations, and cultural stories, making each celebration a memorable and enriching experience for everyone involved.

This Valentine’s Day at Hillside House, we wanted to take a moment to show our wonderful staff just how much they mean to us. We set up a cute Valentine’s table filled with lots of little treats as a small token of our gratitude and appreciation. It was our way of saying thank you for all their hard work, dedication, and the love and care they show every single day. We truly appreciate everything they do to make Hillside House such a warm, happy, and nurturing place for everyone. 💕

At Hillside House, love and learning filled every room as the children enjoyed a variety of Valentine’s activities tailored to their ages. In Preschool, the children explored sensory play with colourful rice, delighting in scooping, pouring, and feeling the different textures before creating their own beautiful Valentine’s cards to share with loved ones. In Oaks, the children engaged in a sensory tuft tray filled with colourful rice and soft tissue paper, using the materials to express different feelings and spark conversations about emotions in a creative and hands-on way. Meanwhile, in the Baby Room, little ones enjoyed filling and emptying drawn hearts with delicate petals, developing their fine motor skills, and had lots of fun colouring in hearts with chunky crayons, making their very first Valentine masterpieces.

Our preschool children loved exploring our forest school area, where curiosity led the way. They discovered sticks, leaves, and tiny creatures, using their senses to see, touch, and listen to the world around them. Through imaginative play and gentle adventures, the forest became a place to build confidence, teamwork, and a growing love for nature.
