This is what we get up to when we’re not flying the Lancaster Bomber Simulator. Fozzi — who apparently can’t resist anything with a rotor — decides to take to the sky in a Cavalon gyrocopter. Richard turned up, having flown the thing in for a fly day at Brighton City Airport.

It’s got a glass cockpit so slick it makes you wonder why every other aircraft isn’t built like this, and a cruise speed that’s frankly ridiculous for something that looks like it escaped from a science experiment.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day. Naturally. Because when aviation chaos breaks out around here, it’s never quiet, never sensible, and always brilliant. Thanks Richard @ auto-gyro.co.uk :-)

Paul Rumsey - So, a quick June update about our Lancaster Bomber Heritage Simulator Experience — and just as I’m about to explain something sensible, I go off‑point as usual and start rambling about a jet tearing past like it’s trying to outrun its own fuel bill.
