Scamps Playgroup Shoreham by Sea

Scamps Playgroup Shoreham by Sea Weekly playgroup for pre-school children run during term time. We are a friendly playgroup run by a group of dedicated volunteers.

There are a range of activities every week including craft activities, a small trampoline, slide and rocker, make believe toys and toys for the babies. We finish off every session with a sing song and a story. We try and keep the entry fee as low as possible and just pitch it to cover our costs. The entry fee is currently £2.50 per family or childminder, and this covers free tea and coffee for the adults and snacks and drinks for the children.

Hi all
St Peters Hall is no longer available to hire. I have some cash in hand which I think would be best donatated to an appropriate charity. Unless of course somebody on this forum can find a new venue . Tbh I don't know who owned the toys etc I'm guessing the church. I think it would be quite an undertaking to get started again especially as things remain uncertain. This is something I would not be able to do. It is sad that this playgroup enjoyed by so many over 30 years is a casualty of covid. Keep safe and well.

Unfortunately Scamps will be closed until September. The church has informed us that this is the earliest that the hall will be available. I know this is disappointing for so many of you. I will update this page with any news. Have a lovely summer and stay safe. Ann

Hello everyone! I’m sorry to say that we still don’t have an opening day, but will let you know as soon as we do.
Due to personal circumstances I am stepping down from organising Scamps. Thank you for your support over the last couple of years. I’m very grateful to Ann for taking over.

I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since we were last able to meet at Scamps 😢. I’m sorry we haven’t been able to provide a group to socialise in and more recently to keep out of the cold. Hopefully we will be able to return in the new year. 🤞As soon as I have good news, I will of course let you know.

I hope you are all as well as you can be.
Unfortunately, we are still not allowed to reopen. It is unlikely that we will open before Christmas. I will keep you posted when I know more.

I was hoping to have good news about us re-opening soon. Unfortunately the hall is still unable to be hired to toddler groups.

As soon as I have information regarding reopening, I will post it on here.

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are well. I’m sorry it has been several months since I last posted a message!

At the moment I still do not have a re-opening date for Scamps. St Peter’s Church Hall is currently closed to hirers, and is following government and diocesan advice to ensure they can reopen safely at some point in the future. I am hoping to have an update regarding this by the end of August.

As soon as I have more information I will let you all know.

I am hoping you are all well and keeping safe still. I hope you haven't forgotten us at Scamps. It looks like we won't be meeting again until the autumn, possibly dare I say it, the winter ☹️
