It’s that time of year again! We’ve already started welcoming prospective parents into St Luke’s to have a look around our wonderful school.

🌦️ Weather in Geography! 🌍

We have started our new Geography topic all about weather!

In our first lesson, the children explored the United Kingdom, using atlases to locate it before identifying and naming the four countries: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. 🇬🇧

🎤💙 YOUNG VOICES 2027! 💙🎤

The letters have gone out and the response has been AMAZING! We already have over 60 children interested in joining our Young Voices choir! 🎶

Our weekly club will run after school every Wednesday, led by none other than Mr Bell, Miss Phillipson and DJ Halps! 🎧🎤😂

There’s plenty of singing and rehearsing ahead, but it will all lead up to the big one…

💙💛 Exciting News – SJR Lunchtime Club! 💛💙

Letters will go home tomorrow with details of an exciting new opportunity for our children!

From Thursday 17th September, we will be welcoming SJR Worksop CIC into St Luke’s to lead a weekly lunchtime club. ⚽🌟

We’re really looking forward to welcoming the SJR team into school and giving our children another fantastic opportunity to get active, develop their skills and have fun!

📝 Please complete and return the forms sent home tomorrow. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

📖💚 Bible Buddies in FS2

Our FS2 children enjoyed their first Bible Buddies session with Ginny this week.

The children listened to the Creation Story, sharing their thoughts and talking together about the wonderful world around us. 🌍🌱🐘

A lovely opportunity for our youngest children to explore Bible stories together as they continue to settle so brilliantly into life at St Luke’s. 💚

We always look forward to Ginny’s visit! ✝️

💚 Learning and Exploring in FS2!

Our FS2 children continue to love exploring, playing and learning in their new classroom. They have settled into life at St Luke’s so incredibly well and it is lovely to see their confidence growing each day! 🌱

I had a great visit to FS2 today and was soon drawn into some very important role play in the small world area! 😂 A very welcome distraction from the desk job and a lovely opportunity to see the children’s learning, imagination and conversations in action.

💡🔋 Investigating Circuits in Thoresby Class!

Thoresby Class have been getting hands-on with their Science learning as part of their Electricity topic!

Working together, the children constructed and tested a range of electrical circuits, investigating what makes a circuit work and using their scientific knowledge to solve problems when things didn’t quite go to plan! ⚡️

Some fantastic teamwork, communication and problem-solving along the way. Brilliant Science in action! 💚

🎸⭐ Times Tables Rock Stars in Thoresby Class!

The children in Thoresby Class have been busy rocking their times tables! 🎸

Regular practice on Times Tables Rock Stars is helping the children to build their fluency, accuracy and confidence when recalling multiplication facts, as they work towards the Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check in June.

⚡️🎈 Super Science in Year 6!

I did initially wonder why Mrs Martin was spending her lunchtime blowing up balloons… all became clear this afternoon! 😂

In Science yesterday, Year 6 investigated static electricity. Using charged balloons, the children experimented with separating salt and pepper, picking up pieces of paper and even making plastic float! ⚡️

Lots of brilliant hands-on investigation, questioning and scientific thinking from Year 6. 💚
