Yesterday our fantastic PTFA organised a Summer fete at the school. Thank you to our PTFA for your hard work, it was a lovely event with every penny of the money raised going towards enrichment for the children of Shillington lower School and Pixie Pre-school. It was lovely to meet current and future families yesterday and I hope everyone had fun.

School history mystery!
Recently we received a lovely letter from a lady called Margaret Collier and some very old photographs of the original Shillington school building from 1961-2. The sender is hoping that someone may recognise themselves, their parents or even their grandparents in these lovely pictures of May Day celebrations, Christmas productions and gymnastics displays. Next Week is Walk to School Week. We are encouraging children (and their grown-ups) to walk, scoot, cycle or park further away and walk. The children will be learning about the health and environmental benefits of walking to school.

Yesterday we had some excitement in school when a swarm of bees decided to seek a new home in the hedgehogs outdoor area. Thankfully John from the Bedfordshire Beekeeper Association, arrived very quickly and collected them. They are going to be given to an apprentice beekeeper who will look after them. We are very grateful to them for their help.
