Holly & Hawthorn CIC We are a not-for-profit group based in Shepton Mallet - part of the East Mendip Hills in Somerset.

Our aim is to deliver forest school, outdoor education & outdoor play. We are a Recognised Forest School Provider with the Forest School Association. We aim to provide regular opportunities to develop physical and emotional health through play and hands on learning experiences in a woodland setting. The philosophy of Forest School is to encourage and inspire individuals of any age through positive

outdoor experiences. We aim give children the opportunity to:
•access outdoors as a learning environment
•develop useful skills and awareness of nature and the environment
•increase motivation and learn alternative attitudes.
•increase confidence and self-esteem as participants

We've had a great time this summer at our school holiday club - Wild Wednesdays. As well as enjoying the woodland itself, the children have chosen to make woolly bees, mini people and felt stones. They've also made braids and copper pendants and played with clay. Hunting for frogs another favourite and they were found in abundance large, medium and small! 🐸

The new term is approaching and we will be resuming our Parent & Toddler Group on 18th September, then every Friday morning, 10am-11.30am, term time.
Our group, in Shepton Mallet, is run with a forest school ethos.
We offer the opportunity to explore, play, make, learn and enjoy the outdoors. Nature, art and craft activities, pond dipping and play in our mud kitchen!
Grandparents and other family members welcome!
Full price is £8.00 per session, plus £3.00 per extra toddler.

School holiday club, Wild Wednesdays throughout the summer holidays at the Somerset Earth Science Centre, Stoke St Michael.
10am- 3pm (5hrs) or 10am-12.30pm (2.5hrs).

A fantastic opportunity for children to enjoy the outdoors. Run with a forest school ethos, our club encourages children to explore, play, create, learn, and follow their own interests both independently and collaboratively. Activities include den building, natural art and crafts, and campfire cooking.

We are looking for someone who can fix our shelter. It's about 6 or 7 metres diameter, so pretty big, and it's ripped right in the middle. We've tried spinnaker tape but it didn't hold (possibly the recent heat). If you think you could sew it up and you can spare us a an hour or two, we would be delighted to hear from you😁
