🎓 Next Steps Event at Fir Vale Academy! 🎓

We recently held our annual ‘Next Steps Event’, giving students the opportunity to meet face-to-face with a wide range of post-16 providers, ask questions and gather the information they need to make informed decisions about their future.

We were especially proud to see Sheffield Wednesday FC recognise two of our students, Hasan and Kevin, for impressing them with their thoughtful and engaging questions! ⚽️👏

They were rewarded with a Sheffield Wednesday shirt and training coat — a fantastic achievement!

Well done, Hasan and Kevin! 🌟 Your confidence and curiosity really stood out. 👏

Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow ⭐

Regular attendance is one of the most important factors in a student's success.

Being in school every day helps students learn more, build confidence, strengthen friendships and achieve their goals.

Let's work together to make every day count. 💙

What does it mean to be a Fir Vale Academy student?

We believe that a positive school community starts with the way that we behave and treat each other.

Our expectations help create a safe, calm, and respectful environment where everyone can learn, grow, and feel part of our community.

From showing kindness and respect to following instructions, looking after our school, and making responsible choices online, every student has a part to play.

These expectations are underpinned by The Fir Vale Way and help us create a school where everyone can thrive.

Our Year 11 Hospitality & Catering pupils have been putting their practical skills into action this week, producing a fantastic range of dishes as part of their practical work. 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

From homemade flatbreads, wraps and pasta dishes to meatballs, pancakes, smoothies and beautifully presented yoghurt bowls, pupils demonstrated a wide range of skills including knife work, frying, boiling, baking, sauce making, preparation and presentation.

It was particularly pleasing to see pupils challenging themselves by making elements from scratch, working with increasing independence and thinking carefully about flavour, nutrition and the final presentation of their dishes.

A great practical session with lots of hard work, creativity and some very impressive finished outcomes. Well done, Year 11! 👏
