As part of our Céide Fields FREE Family Heritage Day we will have demonstrations of wildcrafts by Green Fox Wild Crafts.
Nadine from Green Fox Wild Crafts will have an exhibition and demonstrations of her own handcrafted objects such as spoons, bowls, bags and baskets. She uses only all natural materials from the surrounding environment just like our neolithic Céide Fields ancestors.
Living close by Céide Fields she also uses bark and foraged fibres for natural dying, herbalism, broom making and weaving, everything is intertwined. All her work is made by hand using traditional techniques handed down for generations, mixed up with a twist of design and colour from her background as an artist.
There will be various other activities for all the family.
No booking required.
FREE admission for all.
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

My crafts have always come from the land around me, its been a couple of years of foraging, experimenting and finding new materials in this amazing new landscape that im in.. with much less wood available my attention has been drawn to what is here and freely available on the wild altantic coast. Ive always been interested in brooms and brushes but disnt want to make them until i could find materials to make or grow my own bristles. Turns out theres bristle material everywhere on the bog!
Ive got a few courses coming up to make these brushes!
