✨Celebrating 100 Years of Engineering Excellence
This week, we were proud to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Joint Awards at Cutlers’ Hall - a century of partnership between the Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire and The Armourers & Brasiers' Company.
For 100 years, these awards have supported students, apprentices, and early‑career engineers, helping them pursue projects and training that strengthen our region’s engineering future. The evening was hosted by Professor Keith Jackson, Master Cutler of the Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire, and Dr Geoffrey Andrews, Master of The Worshipful Company of Armourers and Brasiers.
A special thank you to our Archivist, Emma Paragreen, who uncovered original documents from the awards’ earliest days, helping us reflect on the programme’s remarkable origins. We were also delighted to have our Chief Executive & Clerk, Martin van Kan, welcome guests to the Hall, alongside Company Members and Freemen who continue to champion this long‑standing tradition.
