Finally got my new board up and completed at my classroom teaching role - just got to sort the rest of the room with some displays!
At the end of this academic year, I made the decision to dedicate more time to private tuition; it is something which I really enjoy! Due to this, my availability has changed and I have more space on:
Tuesdays - (Afternoon, mainly lessons at my home/online)
Fridays - (Afternoon, a mixture of lessons at students' houses, my home, and online)
In addition to this, at the wonderful Elegance Music, I have a couple of spaces coming up on a Saturday afternoon due to students moving on to university - It has been so wonderful to teach them and see them succeed!
Please drop me a message if you are interested in any of the above slots or if you would like to find out more.
Happy practising!

Feeling so proud with the music room! It’s so close to completion, and as you can see it has come a long way 🥹 I did end up going with a main Tetris theme in the end, albeit a smaller version of the initial design in my last post 🎮

On Saturday I had the pleasure of playing for the surprise birthday t of one of my saxophone students - it was an absolute honour to be involved and to play such lovely pieces ☺️🎷
Quite literally doing it ‘my way’!
This piece is from a fantastic grade 1 compilation book as sold by , and the piano backing I had recorded today for a student (we liked the string setting on the YDP piano!) I think it sounds great in any octave, even with the random additions I popped in!
A little bit of fun in between lessons today! I do like this song quite a bit 😍 I think I could put more vibrato on some of the longer notes and shape some of the phrases a touch more , and piano wise I’m certain there may be a few ‘interesting’ chords 🎶 Other than that, quite happy with how this has turned out!
A bit of fun in between lessons today at ! I cannot wait to see the new Bond movie, so Goldfinger felt like a good thing to have a go up today on piano and flute! I definitely need to work on some of my staccato in this piece, as well as tuning on the long notes , either way this is so fun to play 🕵️♀️ 🎶 I only have a few gaps left both at elegance music and privately, so message me on my website, via or on Instagram to get booked in for a clarinet, flute, or saxophone lesson 🎶🎷
During a small gap today at I tested out my new ‘myfife’ as sold by ! This instrument is a great step on the way to flute, and comes along with a book and a music bag. Of course I had to go for bright green 🎶 🤣
I had another fantastic day of lessons at yesterday - I had a bit of a gap, so thought I would give a go at one of the tunes from book 2, Czardas by Vittorio Monti! Again, I have recorded the piano chords onto one of the fantastic Yamaha pianos sold at , and then played over the top of this 🎹 🎷 with this piece, it is a fantastic opportunity to develop vibrato in the first section, and then to test the saxophonist’s agility in the second section
Another quick piano and saxophone recording from earlier today at elegance music! I do like putting together piano backing and saxophone from the tune a day book series. They are great books as they include songs, pieces, and tunes which students will usually recognise.
With these tunes, students can then apply all their skills and musical knowledge learnt in the lesson, such as articulation, key signatures, rhythmic values, dynamics, note reading, the list goes on!
Currently, I only have a few 30 minute slots available until the summer holidays. In September, my availability will be better, so please do get in touch to reserve a time 🎶 you can contact me via my Instagram page, my contact form or messenger on my website (emma-music.co.uk), or on Facebook messenger. Happy practising 🎶🎷
A bit of something for fun I recorded on both the electric piano and sax yesterday! I had a bit of time in between students at and decided to take a stab at Entry of the Gladiators! In my lessons, I will sometimes do basic chordal accompaniment; I have noticed it is rewarding for students to play a whole performance, but it can also help students with counting, tuning, and a whole lot of musical elements too!
A bit of Bach this morning! The platinum ABRSM music medals book is just so fab 🙌
