Join us next Friday and Saturday for two days talking and thinking and singing about folk! A mixture of academics, practitioners and community researchers come together for a jam packed two day symposium. All very welcome to join the discussion.

I'm pleased to share with everyone that a new open-access Special Issue of the International Journal of Traditional Arts (IJTA) is now available from https://tradartsjournal.ncl.ac.uk . Through six case studies across four continents, ‘Social justice, human rights, and sustainability of traditional arts’ (IJTA vol. 4 no. 1, 2022), guest edited by Dr Catherine Grant, explores how vibrant and viable traditional arts practices can be formidable instruments in the pursuit of social justice and human rights.
