Just Hope

Thin line to death with no money - just hope.
Unseen like the wind with nowhere to go.
Stomach grumbling,
Just a few change to spare,
Shivering in the cold like a whippet but in the open.
No money – just hope.
It feels like walking on a thin rope; you can barely balance.
“Help! Help” I call from the inside, furious but weak,
Nothing to do.
Isolated from the world like it is my fault.
My physical health fading like a dying ember.

The Meersbrook Bank Christmas posties found this in the post box today... Don't worry - we'll make sure it finds its way to the North Pole well before the big day!

Poppies will be on sale from tomorrow, from the school office. Year 6s will be selling these at playtimes and lunchtimes. Parents can also purchase at the end of the day. The Royal British Legion's suggested donations are - paper poppies £1-£2; slap bands £1.50; enamel pin badges £3. Please ensure any money sent in with your child comes in a labelled envelope or purse so it doesn't get lost.
