We're looking forward to welcoming everyone back into school tomorrow morning. It's been a busy couple of days preparing and today was spent refreshing our staff's first aid skills.

Feeling proud!!!

Congratulations to our competition winners Meersbrook Bank Primary School! 🎉

For this years One Voice Summer singing festival we held a Big Brave Bill writing competition. The challenge was for Year 2–Year 5 pupils to write their own verse for Kate Rusby song Big Brave Bill.

The children at Meersbrook Bank Community Primary School have written an outstanding new verse:

Young Erin Koski out late in the dark,
Walking her dog over in Meersbrook Park,
Dog pulled on the lead, Erin fell in the weeds,
Rolled down the hill almost all the way to Leeds,
And here’s Bill, Bill with his rescuing rope,
And it’s Bill, Bill pulling her up the slope.

One Voice is taking place next week! Come and hear this brilliant verse performed live: https://www.trybooking.com/uk/GIZV

Just Hope

Thin line to death with no money - just hope.
Unseen like the wind with nowhere to go.
Stomach grumbling,
Just a few change to spare,
Shivering in the cold like a whippet but in the open.
No money – just hope.
It feels like walking on a thin rope; you can barely balance.
“Help! Help” I call from the inside, furious but weak,
Nothing to do.
Isolated from the world like it is my fault.
My physical health fading like a dying ember.
