Holiday fun.

Over the holidays we became crab obsessed going crabing multiple times (at Barton's point and rock turning while the tide was out), making crabs in the sand, play doh and junk modeling, painting crabs, acting like crabs.

After the crabs came pokemon we have walked for miles searching for pokenon(we have still not caught them all), making models of our own pokemon drawing new ones and making our own pokemon cards. Playing with the figures in all different sensory ways.

One of the older children taught us how to make scrambled eggs. We made cakes, cookies, Cup cakes, rice crispy cakes and smoothies.

We have been to every park/woodland i know of enjoying the outside.

We made up games at the beach throwing stones, hunting for wildlife, counting the fairy doors and beach huts.

We drew on balloons to make monsters. We took pictures of the animals at Kent life and the petting farm.

The children saw me setting up a tray so decided that they needed to do it drawing around the shapes and putting the shapes in the middle. One of the older children wrote the mission on the tray and then the children matched the shape to the object.

After watching the Olympics the children became gymnastics dancing with ribbons, doing hand stands, cart wheels, obstical courses and standing on the podiums at the beach for their of the cuff closing ceremony.

Last couple of weeks activities:

we enjoyed talking and playing football. We made football tshirts.
We rolled dice and marked the numbers down predicting the scores and adding them together.
Flicking cereal balls into the football nets. Playing football and using the large board to kick/ throw balls at.

Last week we did lots of threading and hand control activities.

We put cocktail sticks into sponges and cereal hoops on kebab sticks, (The children liked sneaking the cereal from the piles and my stick as a snack while i was also trying to get the most on my stick.)

We searched through cereal to find letters and match them.
We used popits rolling dice and popping that amount. Which then lead to READY STEADY GO and pop them all as quick as you can.
We used stamps to make pictures and used this to practice some of our numbers.

The last couple of weeks activities:
We danced and sang to animal songs and made up our own, using musical instalments and ribbons. The children enjoyed this so we then did a trip to wingham where we had to go round the new insect area 3 times and have had requests to do again 🤗.

We expelled sensory bags mixing colours, textures and looking for things floating in the bags.
We sorted and weighed beans.
Explored letters in jelli bath
And mark making in the water mat.

We celebrated everything strawberry:
We went to pick your own counting and looking at the shapes and how different fruits might grow.
We made strawberry smoothies, sauce for strawberry ice cream, strawberry lollys and strawberry jelly. Exploring how strawberries feel smell and expanding our cutting and cooking skills.

Last weeks activities spend the day in the field woods and park.

We made fathers day salt dough heart foot prints.

Visited the beach and made crab pictures and insect pictures using bits at the beach.

The children also on a hot day enjoyed playing with frozen peas ad water catching them in the net and picking them up with their hands or tweezers counting them in their pots. As the peas thawed and squashed the children decided to mash them up for soup.

We also looked at sink and floating items around us.

With the water guns the children watered the flowers and tried to knock the dinosaurs over.

We also celebrated cup cake day.

Last weeks activities

Road safety:
we made traffic lights. We walked around so see what we could see on the streets and raods. We used road tape on the floor with the children's help to place down what we might need to make it look real.

We went prematurely to pick your own so we did a pit stop to get mud and veggies to make our own pick your own, the children washed and ate the fruit and vegetables also pretending to buy and sell the produce.

We also got some sun flowers from the garden center as our seedS failed to grow and planted them looking at the different parts of the flower.

We set up a water tray and went to the beach for world ocean day Taking our home made jelly fish that the children loved about last week, we also compared the different types of sea w**d. While playing with the pick your own a child said how the mushrooms looked like the jelly fish we saw so we popped some of them in they floated and moved a bit like jelly fish when the children made waves.

She of last weeks activities:

We did colour mixing on paper, in milk and making colour spinners.

We looked at healthy eating looking at fruit, vegtables and some junk food. We put them in different grouos discussing colour, taste, seeds And shape.

We went for a bug hunt walk around Barton's point where we found lots of jelly fish and wooden sculptures. And played in the park/sand pit.

We also went for a walk in the corn fields to see what bugs we could find there. We spoke about corn for flour and corn for sweet corn.

We also did lots of water mark making where some children were not happy that the sun dried up their pictures, numbers and letters.

Before the half term rush we went to the 2p machines where the children developed their technology skills playing the games and rides. this then started talks about money.

Some of last weeks activities : bubbles, sand and water.

One child had watched blipy make lemonade and asked if we could, so we made our own lemonade making stand.

We blew bubbles in many different ways with another bubble painting activity to try next week.

We visited two different sand parks and made our own kneetic sand which was a fail as it didn't last long and then was just wet sand. now the corn flour makes dust clouds when ever the children touch it. 😅

As the rain defended we went out looking for puddles and other animals/insects that like to come out in puddles and rain.
We decided we needed bigger and muddier puddles to play in so went to the gunpowder works.

We also made star cookies for eid that the children demolished.
