Valence School Art Exhibition, please join us🎨

Hedgehog Class had a wonderful trip to Polhill Garden Centre on Thursday! 🌿

The children loved exploring the colourful plants and visiting the aquarium, where they enjoyed feeding the fish.🐟

In Maths, they have been learning all about money and even had the chance to buy something of their choice—such a great real-life experience!

We all had an amazing time on this fantastic trip. Well done, Hedgehogs 🙂

The Valence Buoys are Channel ready!

After months of cold water training, the team has passed their final Dover Harbour assessment — including the brutal “double dip”

This week, our Simmonds 4 students have been getting hands-on with independent cookery 🍳👩‍🍳

As part of a bespoke AQA Unit Award Scheme designed specifically for Valence students, they’ve been researching, planning, shopping for, and preparing their own meals—building essential life skills every step of the way.

The focus isn’t on perfection, but on growing independence, resilience, and problem-solving skills. Mistakes are embraced as part of the journey, giving students the chance to reflect, learn, and improve throughout the unit 🌟

🌱 This week at Valence… 🌱
Primary hosted a wonderful plant sale, bringing together staff and students to pick out their summer plants.

It was a brilliant success—not only did everyone enjoy getting involved, but it also gave our students a valuable hands-on opportunity to learn about plants and the enterprise skills involved in growing and selling them. 🌼💚

A proud moment for Tim Longthorne representing Valence School at the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award and 70th Anniversary Celebration in the beautiful Buckingham Palace Garden.✨

This year is especially meaningful as Valence School celebrates 10 years of delivering the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, with over 100 students achieving Bronze and Silver Awards over the past decade. An incredible milestone that reflects the determination, resilience and ambition of our young people.
