Miss Smith, accompanied by a group of devoted parents, took our Y5 Lacrosse Team to the Primary School Regional Lacrosse Tournament today at Surrey University.
Up against some formidable Y6 teams from both state and private schools, we weren't entirely sure how we'd do but the team held their own scoring 10 goals across the day and working their little socks off in every match.
Miss Smith introduced Lacrosse to St Katharine's last year, securing a grant through the Sevenoaks Partnship of schools to kit us out and start us off with some training for both teachers and kids. To say the children love the game is an understatement!
We're hoping that this team can rise to the challenge again next year when they're finally up against a team of their own age. In the meantime, we hope to continue lacrosse with out Y4 and 5 classes and home grow some more talent to really show the South East what St Katharine's is made of.

Congratulations to this bunch of Y5&6 legends who came third 🥉 in the Sevenoaks Partnership Athletics competition today at Sevenoaks School.
Competing in both track and field events, and taking home many a medal, this team once again showed why we’re so proud of our St Katharines family. They gave their respective disciplines their all, they were supportive of each other and the other teams, they ate enough biscuits to rival the staff room (looking at you JL) and even when they were injured, they still wanted to put in their brave faces and stay to cheer for their teams.
Well done athletes! You’re all winners to us. 🏆

This week, we took 16 year 3 & 4 bees to the Sevenoaks Partnership Athletics tournament at Sevenoaks School. They took part in a range of activities including sprint, long jump, javelin, long distance and relays and it’s fair to say we absolutely smashed it. Taking GOLD 🥇 in 3 of the 4 jumping competitions and coming third 🥉 in the overall competition.
Whenever we go to these tournaments/shows/competitions; we’re always so impressed with the attitude, engagement and behaviour of all our children - they’ve got the right balance of wanting to win and wanting to have fun. They’ve got fantastic sportsmanship and we’re so proud of them! 🐝

Our Hedgehogs had a very exciting morning performing for their parents and loved ones. Mrs Bennett, our music teacher, has been so impressed with their musical ability across their first year that she was really keen to show off their skills. ✨
🦔🥁They did a an absolutely smashing job! Well done Hedgehogs!

Y6 enjoyed a fantastic day out at Chessington world of Adventures learning about their limits, courage and spinny round tolerance levels. After a hard week doing their SATs, it was a much deserved day of fun!

Big news for St Katharine’s! 💙
We are delighted to share that St Katharine’s has secured almost £149,000 of funding through the Rochester Diocese for major safeguarding and site improvements across the school.
The investment will include:
* New perimeter fencing and gates
* A fully connected fire alarm system linking all four buildings
* New fire doors
Alongside this, thanks to the incredible support of our PTA, families and wider school community, we are also investing in 15 new iPads to help support teaching and learning across the curriculum.
Projects like this are only possible because of the amazing support we receive from our community. Every raffle ticket, disco, fair and fundraising event really does make a difference to the children’s everyday experiences and future opportunities.
Work is expected to begin over the summer holidays, ready to welcome our children - including our newest Reception starters - safely back in September.
Small school - big heart. 💛
