An incredible few days with every kind of weather! Sunny, wet, windy, foggy and hail we have had it all. Students have been brilliant and persevered with every activity. Fish and chips from Rick Stein, Cornish pasties and ice creams in the rain, a real British beach holiday! Coasteering was fabulous, groups of spectators on the cliffs watching our children clambering over the rocks, jumping into the waves and discovering hidden beaches, a perfect week.

The Cornwall team arrived safely after a long journey. A good dinner followed by a brisk beach walk to view the sinkhole with hot chocolate and games upon our return to the centre. All happy and excited to get to the beach today for our water sports.

Empowering Our Team with Essential FASD Training
We were delighted to welcome Tracey Allen, Andrew Keeping, and Maggie May from FASD Awareness to West Heath School last week for one of our INSET training days.
Their informative and inspirational session equipped our staff with vital knowledge and practical strategies to better support children affected by Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder. Understanding FASD is crucial for creating an inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
Investing in high-quality training like this ensures our team has the expertise to recognise and respond to the diverse needs of all our pupils. We're committed to continuous professional development that directly benefits the children in our care.
A huge thank you to Tracey, Andrew, and Maggie May for sharing their expertise and passion. Our staff left feeling informed, confident, and ready to make a real difference.

FASD Awareness was established in 2018 to support the FASD community and raise awareness of Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD). These two aims are met by providing support & friendship groups, activity days, education, training, and information to the FASD community and the wider population. is a family-focused organisation and is the essential bridge linking those with lived experience with clinicians and support services.
