Ever been handed a job that needs a rethink on the fly? 🔄

When original plans to build this medieval-inspired tower with timber and metal fell through, master bricklayer Lawrence Bates switched to an aircrete solution - and the results speak for themselves.

Around 600 Celcon Blocks were cut in half to create a perfectly circular tube rising 20 feet. Lawrence used a scaffold pole as a centre point and a piece of timber with a fine point like a compass to keep every course true.

“I work with aircrete a lot. H+H Celcon Blocks are always good to work with and I would choose them over concrete where possible. When I was building the tower and creating that curve, having blocks that were easy to handle and easy to cut was great,” Lawrence said.

The whole tower and staircase was completed in around seven days. Not bad for a one-off. 👊
