As we start a new term, we want every parent and carer to know one thing: youâre not doing this alone.
For many of our children, going back to school isnât just âreturning to lessonsâ. Itâs a whole new set of demands â new routines, new expectations, new sensory loads, new social landscapes and lots of anxiety. Even familiar things can feel unfamiliar after a break. And thatâs why this time of year can feel bigger, heavier, and more emotional than people realise.
đ This is the rollercoaster â and we ride it together
There will be climbs, dips, twists and turns. Some days will feel smooth, others will feel overwhelming. Thatâs normal. Thatâs expected. And thatâs why our partnership with you matters so much. We are here for you all.
đŞ You do the push. Weâll do the pull.
You help your child get to the gate, out of the car, into the routine.
We take it from there â with structure, predictability, kindness, and the adjustments that help them settle, regulate and succeed.
đ§ Small things make a big difference
Clear instructions.
A familiar face to welcome.
A quieter arrival and time to regulate.
A predictable first lesson to prepare.
Support before overwhelm, not after.
Reduced demand, relationships first and a couple of days to remember our routines and expectations.
These arenât âextrasâ. Theyâre part of how we help children feel safe enough to learn, confident enough to try, and supported enough to grow.
đ Your child is not expected to manage everything alone. And neither are you.
Weâre here to listen, to adapt, to share what we see, and to work with you so your child has the best possible start to the term.
The rollercoaster is real â but itâs also full of joy, progress, pride and moments that remind us why we do this.
Letâs ride it together đ
