Last Wednesday, we welcomed our new P1s for their final transition morning, and this time they even stayed to enjoy lunch with us!

It was wonderful to see them settling in, making new friends and becoming part of our school community. We can't wait to welcome them back as full-time P1s in August! 💚

We’re all still buzzing after our amazing end-of-year trip to Dalscone, Dumfries, yesterday!
The fun never stopped, thanks to everyone looking out for one another and showing our Yarrow values every step of the way. We saw kindness in action, community through our wonderful parent helpers who gave up their day to join us, resilience as children worked together and kept trying, and honesty as they made sure everyone had a turn.
A huge thank you to the Friends of Yarrow for funding our admission fees and ice lolly treat, to Gary for driving us there and back safely, and, of course, to our Yarrow-tastic P1–7s for making the day so special.

Now that we are enjoying some beautiful weather 😎 please remember to provide your child with a water bottle and a hat/cap 🧢 each day. Please also apply sunscreen daily before coming to school/nursery and send suncream with your child for top-ups throughout the day. Thank you 🙏🏻

Thank you to the Merchant Company Standard Bearer Niall Armstrong, Master Andrew Anderson, Ex - Standard Bearer Rob Gray and Alister Patillo for popping up to see us at Yarrow yesterday afternoon. It was a very informative talk about their flag followed with some super questions from P1-7 and finished with a casting demonstration and a generous donation to the school. We promise to spend it wisely!

Yesterday we headed over to Kirkhope for part of our wider community celebration of Selkirk Common Riding.
Thank you to the Selkirk Silver Band for supporting all our singing. Thank you so much to Selkirk Royal Burgh Standard Bearer Sam Colther and his attendants, Robbie Reilly, Conall Fairburn, Elliot Hastie and Aiden MacFarlane for taking the time to visit us and hand out the art and essay prizes. We always look forward to the annual game of football, which was so much fun this year as we had the 2-0 victory!

Well done to some of our P5, 6 and 7 pupils from Yarrow and Kirkhope who competed at the 'Mini Olympics' at Tweedbank. The group represented their schools superbly well! They demonstrated a competitive and sporting spirit. Special mention to Isla who won a bronze medal 🥉 in the high jump. Well done to all and thank you to Mrs Greene for preparing and supporting the pupils for the event.
