☀️ 🚂 🫧 Look at what we’ve been up to on this lovely, sunny, morning 🫧🚂☀️

We’ve been out exploring again in Selby, we saw a big train at the station, it was very big and noisy. It was so much fun watching the train drive off with the people sitting on it ☺️

We then stopped to have a little break and some snack whilst Amanda blew some bubbles for us to watch float away into the sky ☺️

It’s so much fun going out on the Kinderbus and exploring ☺️

☀️ 🧢 Parent/carers notice 🧢☀️

As the weather is forecast to be very hot next week, we kindly ask for all parents/carers to ensure they send their child/children to nursery next week with sun cream and a sun hat. 🧢

We will be keeping the children Cool by having plenty of water/ice activities out and making sure they drink plenty of water throughout the day 💦 🧊

However, we will only be taking the children out if the UV is low enough.

🫧 Bubble painting 🫧

The toddlers have enjoyed engaging in some bubble painting this morning, using the different shaped cutters to make marks on the paper.

We talked about the different shapes we could see and all of the lovely colours.

Mark making is so much fun 🎨

☀️ Exploring Selby on our fabulous Jellytots kinder bus ☀️

We’ve had a fun morning this morning on a little trip into our local town.

We saw lots of things on our walk, including buses, cars, dogs and some of our friends who were out in town with their families ☺️

We loved looking at Selby Abbey and how big it was ⛪️

We had so much fun on our little trip, we wonder where we will be venturing to next? 🤩

Here at Jellytots we offer a range of experiences and resources to promote children’s learning.

The children have engaged in lots of outdoor play, exploring in the water, emptying and filling containers. Making marks in the sand and talking about the patterns we can see. We also practised our balancing skills.

Last week we had a very exciting experience for the children, the local fire brigade North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service visited us to talk to us about fire safety and how they look after the local community and keep people safe. They let the children explore in the fire engine and made lots of loud noises by showing them how the sirens and lights work. 🚨 👩🏼‍🚒🚒

What a busy morning so far!

We’ve enjoyed practicing our balancing skills on the bricks 🧱

Making some lovely music on the piano 🎹

We’ve also loved playing with the parachute outside, running underneath it and holding it up as high as we can reach 🪂

We’ve also enjoyed looking for bugs in the garden 🐜

To celebrate this very special occasion we are holding a party for Children on Friday the 5th of May.

We will be celebrating this special event throughout the week.

Children are invited to wear red, white or blue throughout the whole of this week.

We also invite children to come in their party wear to celebrate with us on Friday.

We will be reading stories, completing craft activities, talking about the royal family, amongst other activities all week.

🦖🌲 Dinosaur fun 🌲🦖

The children have enjoyed making a tree to add to the dinosaur tuff tray.

They mixed the colour brown themselves.

They have also made some leaves out of tissue paper to add to the tree.

The dinosaurs love their new home 🏡

👮 What a fun morning 👮‍♂️

Thank you so much to the lovely police lady and man who came in today and talked to us about their jobs.

We had such much fun, learning how to use the radios, listening to who the police help, exploring in the police van and listening to the sirens.

Thank you again for our fabulous stickers and work books!

We had so much fun learning about the police force. We even got to dress up as one! ☺️

👮‍♂️Exciting news👮‍♂️

Tomorrow the local police will be visiting the children at nursery.

They will talk to them about how they help the local community about their jobs and what this involves.

The children will also be able to ask them questions.

We are very excited about learning what our local police do to help our community ☺️

The Preschool and Toddler children have enjoyed engaging in junk modelling yesterday and today!

They used various recycled products and chose each item themselves for each body part.

They also enjoyed painting the robot this morning and mixing the colours independently.

We have named our awesome Robot “Star”

🐥 🐰 Easter fun at JellyTots 🐰🐥

We have had a super fun week here at Jellytots celebrating Easter!

We’ve loved exploring the different tuff trays, playing in the shaving foam and paint and making marks in this whilst mixing colours. We also enjoyed playing the tray with feathers and shredded paper, counting the eggs and matching numbers to quantities.

We have made yummy buns and decorated some wooden eggs to hang on the tree in the garden!

The children had so much fun today on an Easter egg hunt in the Jellytots garden, each egg had a very special treat hidden inside ☺️.

Thank you so much to one of our very kind parents for bringing the staff some yummy Easter eggs to enjoy!

☀️ Sunshine and walks ☀️

The children enjoyed a lovely walk to the shops this afternoon.

We saw lots of cars, lorries and vans on our walk 🚗 🚛 🚐

We then said hello to all of the people who were also shopping 🛒

The children enjoyed choosing some fruit to have for after their tea today, they chose some apples and banana’s 🍏 🍌

We love being outdoors ☀️

The children have loved exploring in our sensory tray this morning.

We used shaving foam, paint, pipe cleaners, tin foil and sequins.

The children enjoyed mixing the colours to see what happened.

They enjoyed finding the the different items hidden in the shaving foam.

We talking about the smell and how the shaving foam felt.

The older children enjoyed making marks and shapes in the foam using their fingers.

It was so much fun learning how to mix colours 🎨

🔴 Children are invited to wear anything red, whether this be an item of clothing or a fancy dress costume

🔴 We will be holding a bake sale in the reception area to help raise money for this amazing cause

📚🐛 Celebrating world book day 🐛📚

Today the children have enjoyed listening to and looking at the story “The Hungry Caterpillar”

We’ve talked about all the different foods that are in the book and our favourite ones to eat. 🍎 🍐🫐 🍓

We then made some hungry caterpillars and fruit out of various resources and practised our cutting skills ✂️

The children also enjoyed learning about the life cycle of a Caterpillar to a butterfly and looking at the different stages.

We are looking forward to seeing the children dressed up tomorrow as their favourite character out of one of their favourite stories 📚

We encourage parents and carers to engage in helping their child to complete some simple home work sheets.

The children really enjoy doing this and sharing what they learn at nursery at home with their parents and carers.

JellyTots Nursery will be inviting all children to dress up as their favourite character/characters throughout the week, this will start from Monday 27th February.

We will be planning lots of activities around some of the children’s favourite stories 📚

There will also be a fancy dress competition each day for the best dressed child! ☺️
