🎄Weekly round up🎄

This week we have carried on our Christmas theme within nursery and have shared lots of stories about what our families are doing at home to celebrate Christmas this year! We have crafted and explored lots of different aspects of Christmas this week, from animals found on the ice and snow, to creating our own snowmen and Christmas trees! We have also looked at all of the different colours we see around Christmas time!

It has been wonderful to see all of your brilliant Christmas jumpers too!

Great work everyone, we look forward to welcoming you all back next week for some more Christmas fun!

🎄Weekly Round-up🎄

This week in nursery we have been learning all about Christmas! The children have been enjoying lots of Christmas themed activities as well as helping to decorate the nursery for the season! In both babies and toddlers we have been busy crafting away, creating some wonderful Christmas artwork to display on the rooms! We have also begun working on some wonderful surprises for our families!

We haven't let the cold stop us! We have spent lots of time in the garden wrapped up warm exploring the different areas and getting creative in the mud kitchen! Amazing work everyone!

Next week we will continue the Christmas themed. We would also like to invite all of the children to wear their Christmas jumpers into nursery next week as we celebrate Christmas jumper day on Tuesday 11th December! Children and staff can wear their Christmas jumpers all week! We can't wait to see your fabulous outfits!

Good morning everyone!

At this time of year we are very busy here in nursery, celebrating lots of different things!

Friday 14th November is Children in Need and we would like to do our part to raise a small amount of money for such a wonderful charity!

Your little ones are invited to come into nursery during this week (Week commencing 10th November), wearing something yellow, something spotty or your pyjamas! We will be asking for a small £1 donation from each child wearing something spotty or yellow or pyjamas! During this week we will also be doing some Pudsey themed activities!

We very much look forward to seeing all of your wonderful outfits and seeing how much we can raise to support the Children in Need Charity!

🕯️Weekly Round-up🕯️

This week in nursery we have been learning all about the Diwali Festival.

Diwali is the Hindu festival of light. Diwali celebrates light over darkness and is a time for family and new beginnings. The children have been busy crafting Diya lamps, making rangoli patterns and exploring different forms of light and colour.

We have also enjoyed lots of time outside in the garden, exploring the mud kitchen and water tray.

Next week will be all about Halloween! We look forward to seeing all of your wonderful costumes here at nursery! 🎃👻

🍂 Weekly Round-up🍂

This week in the toddler room, we have been exploring more autumnal activities. We have crafted out of natural materials to make hedgehogs, sun catchers and paintbrushes,! The children have all helped to collect the leaves and sticks to create their masterpieces. We used some conkers in a box to create some interesting patterns when shaken!

Next week we will be learning about the Diwali festive!

In babies this week they have explored different sensory experiences including a coloured foam tray! Babies have also used the vehicles to make marks in the paint, watching ask they moved the vehicles around leaving interesting marks behind through the paint!

Everyone has enjoyed some wonderful time outside in the garden, making the most of the autumnal sunshine! Great work everyone!

🍂Weekly Round-up 🍂

This week in the toddler room we have carried on with our autumnal theme and have also begun thinking about Halloween! We have explored a sensory tray, printed our own pumpkin patches and crafted some hedgehogs using our hands! We have also practiced our fine motor skills, using some leaves and strings to do some threading. Everyone has done a great job at getting stuck in and giving everything a go!

This week in the baby room, they have been exploring the colour brown! Jane has created a wonderful autumnal leave in the messy room window. The children have explored an edible sensory tray with various animals and vehicles, they enjoyed a leaf hunt in the garden with Adele before crafting some autumnl ornaments.

🍂Weekly round-up🍂

This week in toddlers we have carried on with our all about me and autumn themes! We have been learning about the first letter or our names, measuring how tall we are and creating some autumnal paintings. We have also enjoyed lots of wet play in the garden, making mud pies in the mud kitchen and sailing the boats in the water tray! Next week in the toddler room we will be exploring world recycling week! Learning all about how we can help look after our environment and the nature within it!

Babies have been exploring the colour red! They have talked all about the colour and where it can be seen in our world! They have created wonderful red handprint pictures and explored a red themed sensory tray. The babies have also had lots of fun playingbwith the bubble machine, chasing and catching the bubbles!

What a wonderful week we have had! Great work everyone!

🍂Weekly Round-up🍂

This week in the toddler room, we have been exploring all about me! We have crafted our own houses, drawn our families, created our faces and talked lots about what we look like and how we are all different from each other! We have also kept the autumn themed going, exploring the nature surrounding the nursery, talking about all of the changes happening with the season!

Babies have been exploring the colour green this week! They have created green leaf handprints, crafted frogs and gone on a green treasure hunt around the baby room!

We have all had lots of fun exploring both inside and outside of the nursery. Great work everyone!

🍂Weekly Round-up🍂

What a wonderful and exciting first week back we have had here at Speckled Hen. It has been lovely seeing you all back and hearing about your holidays and adventures!

This week we have been exploring the autumn season, talking all about the changes that we can see in our environment, what these changes look like and why they happen! We have also introduced 4 new friends to the toddler room! We now have some stick insects as our class pets! The children have been watching them move and some even held them with Ash!

🌻Weekly round-up🌻

What a glorious week of weather we have had! This means we have spent lots of time in the nursery garden exploring and learning about lots of different things! We have enjoyed lots of water play and looked at all of the different flowers and plants we could find in the garden. Toddlers brought the flowers inside and created their own flower pictures using various objects including corks, pompoms, pipe cleaners and bottles looking closely at the patterns each one made on their page! This week we have also enjoyed some snacks outside, turning our regular snack time into a sunny picnic in the garden.

Great job everybody! Let's hope the sunshine sticks around into next week for some more fun in the sun! ☀️

⭐Weekly Round-up⭐

This week in babies and toddlers we have had lots of fun! We have been learning, crafting and exploring together with our friends!

Babies have been exploring a beach week! They have explored various sandy tuff trays and have created a beautiful sand picture. They have been singing songs and reading stories learning all about the different experience you can have at the beach!

Toddlers have been constructing and talking about the weather! During group time we have discussed all of the different weather we have seen during the week and how the weather changes. We have built towers and created patterns with the threading boards. To finish the week we crafted some beautiful rainbows, just like the one we saw outside the nursery window!

Great work everyone! We hope you all have a lovely weekend and we look forward to more exciting activities next week!

We have had another fun filled and busy week in the toddler and preschool room! The children have explored an under the sea theme, following their interests! Our book of the week has been rainbow fish! We have talked about how each one of us is different and the things that makes us who we are! We have enjoyed both inside and outside waterlay, exploring the different animals and their habitats within the deep blue sea! What a wonderful week we have had! We have also been working on our mark making skills, using a variety of different media! Great job Everyone!
Next week we will be discovering insects and mini beasts! We can't wait to see you all back next week!

This week, our babies have had great fun following their interest in music and being outside in the lovely sunshine in the mornings when it was a bit cooler. We have been clapping along to songs, painting in the air with brushes to classical music and having great fun outside. What a wonderful week we have had. Next week we will be looking at our emotions and introducing a variety of ways and games to help us!
