We’re excited to celebrate the fantastic achievements of our Year 9 students as they reach this brilliant milestone in their journey.

To celebrate their hard work, dedication, and growth, we will be hosting our Year 9 Graduation Ceremonies on Thursday 9th and Friday 10th July, and we want as many parents, carers, and families there as possible to share the moment.

We can’t wait to see you there and celebrate the amazing achievements of our students together! 🌟

Get ready to show your team spirit! Tomorrow (Wednesday 17th June), we are celebrating the World Cup, and students are invited to ditch their regular school uniform for the day. 🎉
Students can come to school wearing either:
👕 Their favorite World Cup football shirt/kit with PE kit
👟 Their standard school PE kit

What a wonderful, emotional afternoon we had yesterday as we said goodbye to our fantastic Year 11s! 🎓✨

There was laughter, memories, and a lot of tears as the students took part in their traditional shirt signing, a special leavers' assembly, a deeply moving balloon release, and finally, a well-deserved guard of honour from staff as they walked out of the gates for the final time.

Year 11, you’ve been an absolute credit to Outwood Academy Brumby. We are so proud of the resilience, hard work, and character you have shown throughout your time with us.

We wish you the absolute best of luck with your next steps - remember to keep setting the standard wherever you go next!

For last night’s Twilight Masterclass, "From Hobbies to Hustle: Discovering Hidden Talents", we had Gary Rawsthorne from BAE Systems in the building.

I’ll be honest, this one was brilliant.

Gary gave our students and parents a proper, unfiltered look into the world of aircraft maintenance and engineering. To top it off, he casually dropped an exclusive invite for Brumby students to go and see the BAE academy in person. Needless to say we’ll be taking full advantage of that very soon.

A massive thank you to Gary for giving up his Wednesday evening, and to all the families who turned up to listen.

Massive news for our next Parent and Student Twilight Careers Masterclass!

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to make this happen, and this Wednesday, we’re welcoming a special guest speaker from BAE Systems (British Aerospace Engineering) to deliver a session entitled “From Hobbies to Hustle: Discovering Hidden Talents"

This session, from 5pm until 6pm, is all about connecting the dots between what you love doing in your free time and how those skills can translate into huge, real-world career opportunities in industries like aerospace, tech, and engineering.

Whether you're a gamer, a coder, a creative, or just trying to figure out what your future looks like, this is one you do not want to miss. BAE Systems is a global industry giant, and having them in the academy to speak directly to our students and families is a massive opportunity.

Drinks and refreshments will be available for everyone throughout the session.

The most important part? This is for EVERYONE. You do not need to be an Outwood Brumby student or parent to attend. We are opening our doors to the entire town.

Here is what we have lined up for what promises to be an unbelievable community event:

🎡 THE SUMMER FAIR

We are going all out. Bring the family down for inflatables, summer games, and incredible food (we’re talking hot food, cold drinks, crepes, ice cream—everything you could want on a summer afternoon!).

We are also running a massive community raffle with some unbelievable prizes up for grabs, including a Ninja Air-Fryer and FIVE family tickets to any Scunthorpe United home game next season! 🎟️🍳

We are scheduled to be joined by special guest Sir Nic Dakin MP, and rumour has it we might even have some more familiar faces dropping in...

Running alongside the fair is the North Lincs Opportunity Market, and it is absolutely huge. We have brought together more than 40 local employers, training providers, and support services under one roof. We’re talking industry giants like British Steel, Wren Kitchens, Ongo, and the DWP.

🏆 IT’S FINALS WEEK! 🏆

It has all been leading to this... The shiny new trophies are arriving this week and the Great Brumby Knockout Tournament Finals kick off on Monday 8th June!

Our students have been battling it out for weeks, and now it comes down to the final few.

A massive well done to everyone who has taken part and shown such brilliant sportsmanship over the course of the tournament.

Good luck to all of our finalists. The crowds are going to be big... who will bring home the trophies?! 🏆👏

Our Masterclass series continues after the half-term break with “The Bank of Mum and Dad: Understanding Student Finance” on Wednesday 3rd June, 5-6pm
