Happy New Year everyone!

At this time of year I usually have a higher demand for Year 6 SATs tuition. Whilst I tend to put this at the forefront for the next few months, I will still be offering general primary tuition in maths and English.

I currently have 30 minute and 45 minute slots available on a Tuesday and Thursday. These sessions can begin anytime between 4.15pm and 5.30pm (term time only). Going into the new year, I currently have one slot filled.

I offer a free first taster session, then ask for a minimum of 4 sessions block payment.

If you are curious as to what I have experience in, here is a little more info 😊

I have taught in Primary schools for the past five years. Not only do I have experience in teaching whole classes but also in small groups, 2-1 and 1-1 interventions and tuition.
Here are some recent examples of what I have tutored in:
⭐️ times tables (embedding, speed and fluency) ⭐️ fractions (up to year 6)
⭐️ phonics and early reading (primarily KS1)
⭐️ SATs prep for arithmetic, reasoning and problem solving
⭐️SATs prep for reading comprehension, spelling, punctuation and grammar

Hello!

I am back doing a bit of tuition 🤗 (Scarborough and surrounding areas)

I am working full-time, but have set aside two evenings to offer tuition.

I have one slot taken so far (my reminder of how much I love tutoring 😍). This is what I have available:

💫 Tuesday for a START time between 16.15 and 16.30
💫 Thursday for a START time between 16.15 and 17.00

For a reminder, I offer tuition in Primary Maths and English in either 30 minute or 45 minute sessions.

Just a quick note to announce that I have stopped tutoring for the foreseeable as I now have a full time teaching role of which I'm settling into.

I will be keeping my profile live for now as you never know what the future holds.

I'm returning back to tutoring on Monday and I'm really looking forward to getting back to it 😊

A couple friendly reminders for current and new clients:

🔹️I'd like to continue in asking that payment is made 5 days prior to your single session or to the first of a block booking. This enables me to prepare resources and minimise any loss on my end. I am just a small business, so I do appreciate on-time payments 😊

🔹️Block bookings of an hour give you one free session including the additional first free session!

🔹️I'm continuing to offer half hour and hour sessions.

🔹️My availability remains as Monday to Thursday of start times between 4.15 and 6.30 and Friday of start times between 9.15 and 2.15 (home-schooled prioritised for this day). Some slots have been filled so please message for full availability.

As we near the Christmas holidays, I wanted to say a huge well done to my tutees this term 🤗
I've enjoyed meeting so many new people, including the grown ups - you have been so warm and welcoming 😊

I'm so excited to be keeping some current clients going into the new year and I'm looking forward to welcoming new clients too.

I am having the full Christmas holidays off for some quality family time, although I am still available on messenger for any queries and/or bookings from the New Year. I return to work Monday 6th January and will post availability then 🤗

As Christmas holidays are around the corner I'm offering a deal for December only: three sessions for the price of two (this can be half hour or hour sessions) this includes a shortened free first session as opposed to a full free first session).

I have received enquiries for tuition to begin from the New Year. Don't hesitate to book in for a free taster session just before Christmas. I can then make a plan ready to use in the New Year 😊

I continue to offer English and Maths tuition for all primary years. In the new year, I will also be offering tuition in GCSE English. In my next post I will outline my qualifications and experience that enables me to to offer this new and upcoming tuition service.

It's been a while since I've outlined the tuition I offer, so here is a reminder 🤗

⭐️ Mobile tuition - I can travel to you (any area within roughly 15 miles of Scarborough town)

⭐️ All primary years

- Reading (including phonics, comprehension and fluency)
- Writing (including formation, supporting the development of fine motor skills, comprehension writing, narrative and information text)
- Maths (all areas - from number recognition to arithmetic and reasoning)

- Support with multiplication fluency (including focused preparation leading up to Year 4 multiplication testing)

- SATS preparation
- Literacy: reading comprehension, writing, handwriting, spelling, punctuation and grammar
- Mathematics: arithmetic and reasoning

⭐️ My approach consists of a range of practical activities using different tools, equipment and scenarios. Paper and written work will never be my main approach and will only be implemented when necessary.

⭐️ Communication with parents and guardians will be at the forefront of my tuition. The first session will be free and utilised to gain a full understanding of what you as the parent/guardian want and what your child needs in terms of learning goals. This first session will also be an opportunity to get to know each other, gain a trusting foundation and to learn the likes and dislikes of your child including how they best learn.

We can also establish the rough number and length of sessions needed.
Once all this information is gathered, I will send an overview plan of the context for our tuition plan including learning goals, approaches and activities.

⭐️ The forefront tuition of which I offer is on a 1-1 basis, however I do also offer 1-2 tuition for children with the same areas of need. Whilst 1-1 tuition provides an individualised plan to your child alone, 1-2 tuition may be more beneficial in regards to saving some money and the added social interaction and development for your child.

With the new year around the corner, you may be shortly after thinking about SATS preparation. With so many peers being in similar situations of support, a 1-2 basis may be more desirable.

Although my diary isn't yet open for Saturday mornings, please don't hesitate to enquire after this availability.

Holidays: Monday 2nd December and Friday 13th Decemeber (only these single evenings for wedding and Christmas celebrations 🤗)

I will be taking the full two weeks off over the Christmas holidays. This will be from Saturday 21st Decemeber until Sunday 5th January.
